Not sure how many HG players are required in a match day squad RJ, but we should be ok with Coady, Bennett, Gibbs-White and Ruddy included in the 17.

Would love Rodriguez but fear he wouldn't want to leave West Bromwich.

He definitely wants prem football just the obvious rivallry and possibly fee that would be the issue.

Great player though, too good for the Championship.

There are no restrictions in the Premier League on the match day squad. The only restrictions apply to the squad of 25. It is only the football league that apply restrictions to match day squads.

I believe a match day squad consists of 18 players not 17, as there are 7 subs (or there were last season at least). Therefore, unless an u21 player is named, you require 1 home grown player; as you are only allowed to name 17 non homegrown players in the squad of 25.

Knew my years of playing Football Manager would come in handy.
