I never said they were negative.

But they certainly aren't largely positive,which is what you claimed.

Yes it does, anything that's a 7/10 or higher is surely a positive score. And the 7/10 on IMDb was actually the lowest general audience score I could find for it.

It also got a 7.5/10 user score on Metacritic and 8.8/10 average score on Google from 9000 reviews. So yes largely positive general audience scores.

I was ambivalent about Namor.

Positives:
Great backstory
-His power set and action scenes(until the final fight)
-The actor done a decent job
-Character design
-He felt like a threat until the end


Negatives:
-He killed the Queen, so his anti hero status is gone
-Why did he never just kill iron heart or try?
-He ended up joining Wakanda and using them to protect his people. I feel like he could have just done that in the beginning.

Notes on your negatives..

There's an argument that he didn't directly kill the queen, he couldn't have planned for the weight of the water to shatter one tile on the glass floor.. she also died saving ironheart, her choice, she could have swum up without her.

He did try, he hit her with his spear.. her suit is vibranium like his spear, so I assumed it equalled out.. until he started destroying a vibranium ship with it, then it made less sense..

He hasn't joined wakanda, Shuri promised not to tell anyone about the Talokans, which means wakanda will take the blame for several major events, including the deaths of American agents and scientists. He spells it out pretty clearly, he knows that the rest of the world will align against wakanda now, and that's how he's going to get his war against the surface, his motive not his end goal have changed, allying with wakanda would have meant peace, and no attack on surface dwellers. Really BP2 represents a loss for Wakanda..

He killed her in my eyes. He threw a spear directly at her, whilst she was behind the window. He wanted her dead.

I think he could have killed her when they captured them from the bridge. Instead, he spent time showing Shuri his city and his roots.

He's aligned with Wakanda now. Shuri specifically said that Wakanda would protect Namors oceans. Namor will use this alliance to his benefit but why not just do that from the start? It made more sense to trick Wakanda into thinking Namor was an ally and then revealing it was all a lie, at the end of the movie.

Ignoring the terrible end fight between a giant crocodile and woodpecker, I thought the first 2 or 3 episodes were brilliant, there was a lot of mystery about what was going on but as soon as I found out and they started revealing more, I thought what the hell is this crap, and then the fight.....

They were before they became Godzilla

BP2 positives:
-The tribute to Boseman was beautiful.
-The music and sound
-Angela Bassett as the Queen was amazing, despite her death
-I thought Namors people had some great scenes and abilities.
-Fight scene between Okoye and the Talokan general
-Good chemistry between the cast
-Any scene Mbaku was in
-Wakanda world building and politics both internal and global.
-Shuri in the BP suit and her action scenes

But they got 7/10 on imdb. Surely that's positive?

Decent reviews on IMDb yes, I don't know how though.
I don't think any proper marvel fan would watch falcon and winter soldier and think it was good. It's the worst show out of the ones you have listed there. To be fair I haven't finished Hawkeye so that could be worse but I'll take a guess and say it's not.

Queen Ramonda dying was an issue for me. This movie was about honouring Tchalla and his death and to then have the death of another pivotal character, took away from the movies emotion. They skirted over her death very quickly and I would argue a character like that, would have equally as big of a repercussion to Wakanda and its people.

In the comics mbaku was called man ape, is that name even allowed these days?
Also he used to be a superhuman, is that the case in BP2? He looked a pretty standard, although big dude, in Bp1 and avengers.

From what I recall, he has no powers in the MCU.

I was hoping for more scenes from him but he still put a good performance.

To be honest, it's hard to keep the movie focused on T'Challa's death if the story is about a secret underwater society and a winged topless dude called Namor laying going to war with them

Namors attack on Wakanda was great.

James Cameron might be annoyed that his movie will now be the 2nd one in 2022, that incorporates blue people that live in the water.

What did people make of Shuri as the new Black Panther?

I thought she done a decent enough job but I still feel she lacks the presence on screen to play that role. I'm not sure if that's a writing flaw or a critique of the actress.

I thought Shuri was great in the movie.

She's fine in the role.

I'm surprised there wasn't any hint of Dr Doom. I was expecting an easter egg of some sort.

Just watched it and what a anti climax. Did not feel like a marvel movie at all. The Chadwick dedication was nice and then it had a dull middle part of the movie. The ship scene was terrible while the new Black panther is stabbed with a sphere where it goes through her but still manages to recover.

I had some gripes about the fight scene but the spear bit was fine for me. She has super powers, which include improved healing and we've seen Tony Stark get stabbed and still live, so I was ok with it.

It's not quite on the same level as surviving being stabbed by a lightsaber (FCK YOU OBI WAN)
