His lack of origin story and the confusion around it was so well done in Dark Knight

Thats how id keep it

This
I don't think he has a definitive origin story and he really doesn't need one.

Watched recently the two Amazing Spiderman films.

Wow they were pretty good. Shame they got canned for the new ones.

The Amazing Spiderman movies were average in my opinion and if give the choice, I'd pick Tobey Maguire's Spiderman 1 and 2 over them. I loved homecoming and I am definitely excited for the sequel.

Hated Toby Maguire ones hence why I gave these a miss for so long

Any particular reason why you disliked them?

Just disliked Toby so much he put me of the films.

Much prefer the last two versions over him

A combination of Toby's Peter Parker with Garfield's Spiderman and then you have perfect character.

James Gunn kicked off Guardians 3 for tweets he sent years ago

Well that sucks. I know the tweets were from years ago but he should surely know better.

Taika Waititi to replace him?

JP is a phenomenal actor but moody and weird.

Doubt he'd last long enough to finish this one movie, let alone a multi-movie deal involving him.

Disney take over Fox.

Any thoughts on what this means to the MCU?

Well the X-men will probably be rebooted, recast and integrated into the MCU. That opens up a lot of interesting avenues for future films. Marvel can finally use mutants and not find a way around it like they did for Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch in Avengers 2.
Also no more continuity confusion

Also, the Fantastic Four done properly would be great to see. Marvel do want to expand the cosmic side of the MCU, though that was supposed to be spearheaded by James Gunn before he got fired. The F4 could be a great way to do this. Marvel supposedly wanted to use Silver Surfer and Galactus a while back so you have to assume they see a place for a least some of these characters down the line.

My biggest concern is what happens to Deadpool. Will Disney want to make a 12A, 'suitable for kids' Deadpool or will they be OK with making R-rated MCU movies? If they can find a way to make it work that would be great.

Overall though - it's very exciting for the MCU moving forward

I’m not a big x-men fan so if they start turning up in Avengers films it’ll probably spoil it for me.

Deadpool is probably finished as Disney won’t do R rated films imo

The Joker from SSquad? Obv not under contract to DC films any more then?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah that's the guy

He's still set to return as the Joker in a standalone film (and possibly SSquad2) should those films be made.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I thought all the main Marvel film stars had it in their contracts that they can't do DC films? So I'd be surprised if he flits back and forth between them.
