The latest pure speculation I've heard is that flashpoint will go ahead but they'll seriously consider replacing Ezra afterwards.

The new flash movie has a few things going for it compared to Batgirl

It has apparently tested pretty well
It cost $200m plus making it much harder to ditch
People signed contracts for a cinema release

The main issue is still Ezra Miller. There's enough time to rehabilitate him but they need to get to work.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agreed. The PR team need to get to work.

The Ezra Miller situation is an absolute disaster zone though. And as far as I know he's currently on the run and refusing to contact anyone. Honestly you couldn't write this shlt.

I just don't know how you release a big budget movie where your main star is wrapped up in as much controversy. It's unprecedented. Then again we're getting used to that word when it comes to DC Films.

I just want a Flash movie where he doesn't run so dam weird. And maybe a more comic-accurate look too.

Every decision on The Flash is expensive and comes with drawbacks now:

- Scrap the movie and you sink $200m, ruin a relationship with a talented director and cast, and 0robably have to pay outoads of money on top for breaching contracts guaranteeing cinema release. It is also a huge reputational blow.

- Keep the movie

10 months to resolve Ezra's issues or you are releasing a movie with a loon in the lead role.

- Recast

Incredibly expensive and would require delaying the movie and reshipping much of it as Ezra is the main character

- Delay

Delaying also costs money in terms of marketing, insurance and servicing borrowing costs

Gets worse…. WB didn’t even let the actors know the film was being shelved. They found out from the news media when it leaked out.
When they did the same to Denzel Washington, they sorted him out with a 35 million sweetener for an apology.
WB just can’t get out of their own way.

The box office numbers are still decent but I'd largely agree that phase 4 lacks the magic of previous phases.

I don't think superhero dominance will decline but it's growth may stall on the short term.

Nah DC have made some very good movies over the years but recent years have been an absolute shltshow in terms of strategy, meddling and constant course correcting trying to ape Marvel.

Clearing house is the absolute best thing that could happen so expect more shock news in coming weeks and months I'd say.

Comic accurate look
Better display of speed (Kid from Eternals)
Actual charisma and wit

Little Things.
They decided to not show it in the cinema, and stream instead. And not tell him. They just publicly announced it.

Personally I'd recast Miller and reshoot all his scenes. Obviously that would be very expensive and would likey push the movie back to 2024 or further but quite honestly needs must.

You cannot carry on a franchise with an actor steeped in as much neverending controversy as this guy. The guy is an absolute nutjob and needs help.

I don't think any of the cinema movies will be scrapped but the TV stuff is at the precipice.

You don't do that to Denzel!

Not only is Ezra Miller in the flash but there are also several multi verse Flashes in the movie, all played by Ezra Miller. Good luck recasting and reshooting all those scenes

The numbers are flagging a bit too tbh.

I think Batman, Spider Man and the like will always attract audiences.

But I do think Marvels culturally dominant position is waning, its been 15 years so it's no surprise.

Releasing it with Miller as lead is the best idea just for the reaction.
