Think it whatever the score it won’t matter... as Atherton said earlier India have been so dominant at home that even if they lose this series 5-0 they will still be number one Test team.
Rankings are a joke afridi. India’s biggest challenge was to win in SA, Eng and Australia. The first 2 are gone opportunities. With Australia’s smith and warner absent I really think it would be a good opportunity for them to find new stars against this Indian team.
India should only play 2-3 test matches max per series. They are just so pathetic when they play these long series and have no clue how to play in these conditions. I reckon of all the places India has toured, England has been a graveyard for them. Since 2011 I haven’t seen any other places where India have been thrashed as badly.

Agree, thankfully the ranking system will cease to exists when the new test championship starts next year. Not sure what the answer is to India’s away performances, really is no excuse for this shhht. Don’t think England are all that currently and in recent years West Indies pak and Lanka have won here.

He will never be in the same level as Saj Mahmood
It shows the state of our batting at the moment that England's man of the match in the opening 2 games has been a bowler (who can bat) for their batting performance. Obviously Curran and Woakes both took important wickets as well but they've put the top order to shame with their performances.
Incredible innings from Woakes and he bowled brilliantly too. It's great for England that he has settled in already with the absence of Stokes.
India were so poor in this game that Rashid didn't get to bat or bowl . England will name an unchanged XI barring injury, it'd be great to see Porter get a game at some point in this series though.
For what its worth on Ben Stokes. I hope he gets sent down. I think we know the type of man he is.A drunken bully.He was offering to give bouncer 100s of quid to get back into a club.Just so he could drink even more. What makes you think that Stokes is up himself? He's a fiery character on the pitch but I don't think that's arrogance.
If you want to be the undisputed best team in the world (not just by what the rankings say) then you need to be able to perform to a high standard away from home as well as at home.
Stokes averages 32 with the ball and he does that home and away. He averages 34 with the bat, 32 at home and 38 away. I'm not saying he's the key to winning more series away from home however you need players capable of playing closely to the level they're capable of at home.
It could be a big problem if he's found guilty as many countries are difficult to enter if you've a criminal record.
Personally I think he's a Yob, on the field and off.

Well they should be, violence of all sorts needs the appropriate punishment. We had all this nonsense with football hooligans, until finally after a few really bad incidents the authorities finally stepped in, about 20 years too late.
