What a ridiculous arguement that India are number one because of home tours

What happened when England came over to Rajkot, Visakhaptnam, Mohali and Mumbai? Absolutely spanked and given the run around far worse than we are at the moment. At least Edgbaston was competitive. The fact of Test cricket is just that home advantage is simply far too strong these days. This needs to be nullified somehow.

Abandon the toss and give the away captain the choice of batting or fielding. Gets away from 'prepared' wickets too.

Agree with this. But not sure how this increases competitiveness. Teams that struggle in England don’t do so because of the toss but because of a flawed technique batting vs the moving bowl and then not having the bowlers do make use of the pitches effectively.

Got nothing to do with toss. It’s all about the preparation with the red duke ball. Pakistan last two England tours have had plenty of prep and they have gone home undefeated. India thought a 3 day game was enough and are paying for it.

Bringing through some batters who have better technique is key.

What is noticeable is that the Indian squad, the late addition Yadav apart, are all 28 plus. Not a lot of sign of new talent coming through.

How much this is down to the IPL etc is for others to judge, but there has to be some correlation with less than classic technique and the rise of wam-bam cricket.

England get 300 today and the match is won.

We probably will, albeit from 120-5 or something like that.

Nothing positive. Batsman shocking. Comical run-outs..king Kohli flaps......they deserve nothing less. Hope this give them a wake up call. The rain dident help.

With a nice sunny day ahead...can see England taking the game away from India today.

Hopefully we get 2 days of heavy rain...but looking at yesterdays play, England will probably get a couple of wickets while the players are off.

Look set to start on time today. England well on top but don’t judge a surface until both sides have batted on it. India right back in with early wickets.

Think the weather will win it for England. Nice batting conditions today with the sun out

U know what I meant.

not really.. Not many teams comeback from scoring 100 in their first innings. in fact I cant recall any team doing it. So the weather being sunny today is irrelevant

Need to just let England bat all day today and then let the rain do its job tomorrow and Monday.

Strange review that one. About as out as you can get. Shane Watson esque.

Two down already, be lucky to get as many as India.

Cook gone as well, Pope in.

You cant blame Root for that..The ball just pitched and went quicker off the surface. The likes of Woakes will be an handful for the Indians in the second innings.

Conditions were very bowler friendly. Doesn’t take anything away from the brilliance of Anderson. Indian batting has struggled in these conditions since I can remember. Most of the dismissal modes were carbon copy of 2014 series.

India have done well to get 4 wickets here but will have to restrict england for 150 here to have any chance of getting back. Given tomorrow and Monday it’s going to be cloudy and rainy it will be difficult to come back in this game otherwise

India's over rate is a joke..only bowled 38 overs in 3 hours of cricket

They’re trying to slow the game down on purpose mate. The right thing to do when your against the wall.

It shouldn't be allowed its CHEATING.. But would the icc ban Kohli for this? No the Indians run the game when it comes to money
