Outfield is so goddam slow. Also, we really need to speed up our over rate because 12 an hour is pathetic.
Viru - lets Bta on this wicket first. Difficult to gauge a par score until both teams have a go.
With the ball swinging about and Anderson, Borad, Curren etc... We coudl be in a similar position at teh crease too

ok - Need to stop posting from phone.
This is legitimately pathetic. Absolutely sick to the teeth of these pathetic performances. Why is Bayliss' job not under pressure? Why don't we have a separate Test coach? How can it possibly not be obvious to the people who make the decisions?
Watch Curran hit a quick 50 here. He'll be in at 4 in the second innings
Sigh
Yeah true lefty need to not get ahead of ourselves.
Regardless outstanding bowling from India.

Bowling has been top though. Lengths have been spot on so far.
Reviews were poor from England....not even clipping!
Can't bat this poorly first innings and win so it's India's test to lose from here. Learned absolutely nothing from the Stokes Buttler partnership last time out.

TCM - Think both teams need to bat to get a realistic picture.
What the actual FACK is this abomination of a team effort
Hope we can bowl this well.....

hi there.
what does the (1) after jenning's 2nd score indicate ?
____
Highlights the fact that he got out on the first ball ! (Golden Duck) which is usually an embarrassing moment for any (professional) batsman.

got it
its amazing how many chances that 100 has given jennings, if that was a zero as well he would be long gone by now
It's embarrassing for amateurs too. Even at local club level you get drinking forfeits for golden ducks.
Need to get Curran out. He's a real thorn.

Generally agree and if the score is around the 250 mark then we might be in with a chance but if it's around 150 then it's a poor effort when you choose to bat.
Must wrap up before they reach 150.

They said on BBC that he averages just 17 since that 100.
Still baffled they brought him back after he failed the first time, his average in county is only 34.

Exactly. It doesn't make sense on any level. At least with someone like James Vince you can argue he's got a (slightly) higher average and no obvious technical flaws, just a propensity to drive at wide balls.
With Jennings, he doesn't tick any boxes. Crap average, crap technique, crap mentality, crap form, crap face. The flaws in his game are just so blindingly obvious - why on earth would the selectors think he'd suddenly overcome them when stepping up a level?
He was absolutely nowhere near the best candidate first time round, and this time round he shouldn't even have been in the discussion.

Amazed we didn't go the whole hog and bring Bell back too...
Although he was 89 not out yesterday last I heard
Ian Bell isn't the answer if we're looking for strength of character to solidify a flaky batting lineup. No doubt he'd do better than Jennings or Vince, though.
