Yeah Jimenez is a big guy who wants the ball which is exactly what we need. Glad he got off the mark on his debut like Leo did a year earlier and a good mazing run into Everton's box. He was a real positive yesterday.

Not sure why there is so much negativity after that game. There were a lot of nerves out there and it showed. To come back twice after being a goal down, just shows the desire and passion that this side still has. Let's not forget that there were new players settling in and the first game back in the big time. There may have been one or two players slightly below par, but that's to be expected Imo. Now that the first game is out of the way, I'd like to think we can go on to play better as the season progresses.

Overall I felt disappointed personally but I am certainly not concerned for the season ahead as like I said yesterday these early games are not really much to go on in the long term with sides not 100% for many reasons.

Plenty of must do betters yesterday especially Jota and Costa but on a normal day we would have had Cav and Traore to come in.

I think we also unbalanced going forwards with Jonny on the left. He doesn’t play as high as Doherty or Douglas did when we are in possession.

I think it made us predictable as the switch to the left would end with Jonny playing it backwards, so all our attempts at penetrative play came down the right.

I think Vinagre did well when he came on and provided us with a better balance, allowing us to play with more width and stretch the opposition.

Thought Jonny looked decent first half but he certainly doesn't look to stick close to the wing, he was cutting inside at any opportunity and second half he seemed to pretty much disappear

Let's not also forget, that apart from Bennett and a couple of cameos from Doherty, none of these players have ever played in the Premier League before.

So lads, give 'em a chance.

I thought Castro had a good game and seemed a step up on Douglas to me. Don’t think Douglas was any more prone to getting forward and I think that’s a tactical thing that Doherty is given licence to get far forward but we are more conservative on the other side. No difference in that respect to last year to me. I think the change to bring Vinagre was as a result of trying chasing the game when 2-1 down to get down both sides.

All of the problems Everton caused us came on the other side when they were getting in behind Doherty and Costa’s tracking back was poor on the day

I thought Costa’s tracking back was fine, he made quite a few challenges where he chased back. I don’t think we got caught out because of Doherty’s pushing on. The first goal was a set piece which was defended poorly and the second from a throw in with a quick one two whilst we were already in shape. I can’t really remember Everton doing a great deal down that side other than that.

I think Jonny is a good player, but his tendency to stay deep and cut inside when on the left hindered us against ten men. Vinagre pushed on and kept to the touch line, which stretched Everton and led to the goal. I think Nuno should have made that change sooner.

I tried some punditry on MolMix earlier on this where you can post pictures. So at the risk of incurring the wrath of Sunny:

It would be hard for me to find fault in any of our players yesterday, given the fact than, all bar two, they had never experienced the Premier League before. Everton had way more experience in that department and it showed at times. However, to be too critical of our first game at the higher level would be a wee bit too harsh Imo.

Don't go on Molmix Tamworth, so you can post whatever you like as far as I'm concerned.

We’ll have to agree to disagree on that Tam. Both of their goals came from the left side as did most of their dangerous attacks. And Costa’s tracking back was really poor. Baines had all the time in the world to come forward on many occasions and it’s as well he is not quite the player he was. Costa regularly strolling behind him making no attempt to challenge. And Richarlison was regularly drifting to the space on the left when Doherty went forward, with Bennett doing a good covering job

Saw that earlier Tam and found it interesting and quite telling. Those heat maps are very interesting at times.

Don't think there is anything wrong with analysing a game Wolfie, nobody is slating the players, merely criticism and praise in equal measure and next week I am sure those criticised will come in for praise and vice versa

West Ham look an absolute shambles and Arsenal not much better. No system, no tactical nous, a mess at the back, lazy.

Though we've started badly with a poor performance against a poor side, we will pick up plenty of wins this season even if only in second gear.

Haven't even seen Southampton v Burnley yet but read that both were insipid.

With dross like Cardiff, Huddersfield, Brighton, Newcastle, it won't take too much effort to finish mid table.

Have to say I loved Saturday. The city centre was buzzing with fans from lunch time, pubs absolutely packed, great atmosphere in the stadium, and an entertaining game. Wolves weren’t at their best but still matched one of the better teams in the division. It’s going to be an enjoyable season for sure

Good news - Neves looks class. Fair play!

Bad news - you look woefully inexperienced and Boly looks like a complete donkey!

Sorry H, late to the tread, feel like I've let you down bro.

Been a but ...erm ....busy over the weekend.

Good game overall I thought, new boys didn't quite live up to the billing, but they will need to settle in I guess still early days. Thought Vinagre looked better than Castro tbh on the left flank.

Watched some of the BT Sport coverage when I got in, Steve McManaman was moaning about our shape, lack of ambition, we were sitting too deep (even when our deepest man was on the half way line!) blah, blah.

I agree that we missed a great opportunity to grab three points and didnt create enough chances througout the 90 mins, but at least we did take 2 out of the 3 decent ones.

Boly did look a bit shaky, but he had the odd game like that last season, he'll settle.

It’s ok Goldie, I’ll excuse your omission .....this time .....under the circumstances

I agree with Colin the combi

Neves is a class act and will thrive in the division

We did look a little lost and lacked Prem experience .... I’m sure this will be a lot of things including stage fright. Halfy isn’t concerned, and is sure this will be put right

Boly did look dog shat at times however, Halfy has complete confidence in this kid and can confident this was a one off, Boly will have a great season for sure

All in all, Halfy was a little disappointed not to have taken all 3 points, but happy enough to see Wolves back in the top flight of English football 8/10
