Doubtful... I'm sure people on the sexx offenders list can't apply to be teachers, for instance
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Criminals get all kinds of raw deals these days.
Bloody America won’t let any in. Nobody went mental about a criminal ban. Criminals have rights too!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
True. I'd draw the line at electricity thieves though. Terrible people they are...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Funny thing is, the fact I didn’t add electricity fraud to the roster spared me, I have no doubt about that. Even less doubt than Elvis on the Pogba/Mourinho saga.

British white males have had a good run to be fair.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In Britain, you mean?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No. All over.
Think there's only 22 countries in the world, where British white males haven't tried to take control.
As I said, we have had a good run.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's not true

Not sure of the percentage of BAME managers in English football but considering we didn’t have black players 30 years ago, it might not be so surprising if that number is below the percentage population.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
agreed
Plus of the large amount currently playing most will return home/ to another club/country, rather than move here permanently
Another valid point.
Even if we look at the population only, we’d have very few black players in that age range of 40-50 (I’d guess that’s an average managers age, but even if lower, how many black players fit that bill, considering most foootball managers are ex pros.(again I have no numbers to back that up, but surely?)

Seems to be what the fa are doing, aswell as their target %'s not making sense when compared to the population
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s a no win situation for the FA. The league clubs are being criticised by sections of media/managers and coaches for not giving BAEMEMLGBT people jobs.
Why not have a percentage of gingers, Welsh and heaven forbid Scottish people working in football.

Yes! The BBC do it regularly saying they are only accepting applications from ethnic minorities. I don't know how they get away with it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is because the television industry is dominated by white people, the BBC and other production companies are trying to tip the scale and encourage more ethnic people to work in the industry.

All jobs and any jobs should always be “best man or woman” for the job. Plain and simple. Trying to legislate affirmative action into everything results in a complete failure in society. Affirmative action cultivates racism and perpetuates a further divide in society.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
JUDITH: I do feel, Reg, that any Anti-Imperialist group like ours must reflect such a divergence of interests within its power-base.
REG: Agreed. Francis?
FRANCIS: Yeah. I think Judith's point of view is very valid, Reg, provided the Movement never forgets that it is the inalienable right of every man--
STAN: Or woman.
FRANCIS: Or woman... to rid himself--
STAN: Or herself.
FRANCIS: Or herself.
REG: Agreed.
FRANCIS: Thank you, brother.
STAN: Or sister.
FRANCIS: Or sister. Where was I?
REG: I think you'd finished.
FRANCIS: Oh. Right.
REG: Furthermore, it is the birthright of every man--
STAN: Or woman.
REG: Why don't you shut up about women, Stan. You're putting us off.
STAN: Women have a perfect right to play a part in our movement, Reg.
FRANCIS: Why are you always on about women, Stan?
STAN: I want to be one.
REG: What?
STAN: I want to be a woman. From now on, I want you all to call me 'Loretta'.
REG: What?!
LORETTA: It's my right as a man.
JUDITH: Well, why do you want to be Loretta, Stan?
LORETTA: I want to have babies.
REG: You want to have babies?!
LORETTA: It's every man's right to have babies if he wants them.
REG: But... you can't have babies.
LORETTA: Don't you oppress me.
REG: I'm not oppressing you, Stan. You haven't got a womb! Where's the foetus going to gestate?! You going to keep it in a box?!
LORETTA: crying
JUDITH: Here! I-- I've got an idea. Suppose you agree that he can't actually have babies, not having a womb, which is nobody's fault, not even the Romans', but that he can have the right to have babies.
FRANCIS: Good idea, Judith. We shall fight the oppressors for your right to have babies, brother. Sister. Sorry.
REG: What's the point?
FRANCIS: What?
REG: What's the point of fighting for his right to have babies when he can't have babies?!
FRANCIS: It is symbolic of our struggle against oppression.
REG: Symbolic of his struggle against reality.

Anyone see the Twitterstorm about Jack whitehall gettting cast as a gay man in a Disney film? People up in arms about a straight man getting a gay role... i thought playing someone that isn't you was called acting
This might go some way to explained my why there’s the need for BAME coaches and managers to be prioritised when considered for jobs;

Surely black and mixed race footballers are over represented in the Premier League?
Should this be addressed?

Who are the good managers though? As far as I've seen they've all been crap. Not just crap but most of them on that list got clubs relegated. It's only normal when you have a smaller representation that you will get an even smaller amount that turn out to be good managers. I bet the percentage of white players to white managers is much lower than the percentage of black players to black managers. I don't agree with this at all but also feel if it helps people feel more inclusive then work away. You also have to remember that most PL managers aren't even British, nevermind BAME.
However it's nothing to be outraged over. No bad can come from it, only good I guess.

If being crap/getting clubs relegated was a reason for managers/coaches not getting a job we wouldn’t see the rotation of usual crap managers who get relegated with clubs and then turn up at another clubs few months later. All of whom are white funnily enough.

Don't really get the need to try to compare the % of current players being BME and the % of 'elite level' coaches being BME? Doesn't make any sense.
I can understand the need to do this, because it opens further opportunities for a ethnic group that clearly are not represented. There is a much needed push to encourage gifted Indian / Pakistani footballers to pursue football as a career. This will only happen if role models are there.
However, what I do not agree with is hiring someone simply based on an ethnic diversity agenda.
The best man or woman for the job, irrespective of anything should be the way.

Whether it's a reason or not is irrelevant. They haven't proved themselves to have done a good job so it's expected they won't be offered loads more. Although Houghton does seem to keep getting jobs after relegation. I really don't know which other BAME is even in his league, which is a low league itself.
