Chelsea have one reliable backup in every position. We don't.
It is way over exaggerated but we are still lacking a little bit of depth compared to the other top 4/6 teams.
Edin
Chelsea have Willian to back up Hazard and Pedro, who else? CHO is a 17 year old rookie
Liverpool have an injury prone Sturridge and Shaqiri to back up their front 3, that's a massive fall in quality

What if Salah and Mane get injured?
What if Hazard and Kante get injured?
People only really say this stuff in regards to Spurs. Like all the other teams have players who have back ups as good as their star men. We could've done with 1 or 2, but our lack of squad depth is overblown for me

Liverpool are the only one I would say have the same worries as us.
Yet Chelsea play a 433 and have a backup wide-player and a backup striker on the bench of quality who are usually reliable.
We play 4231 and have a reliable back up (lets say Moura for the sake of argument) - and no reliable backup for the pivot midfield two.
And a CM is where we should've spent big money
But Wanyama and Winks aren't bad back ups. Granted Wanyama is always injured nowadays, but people have been labelling Winks a crock after one (or is it two?) bad injuries. I'm not convinced he's injury prone as of yet. And when he was playing regularly last season he did well enough
Edin,
Why isn't Son enough as a back-up striker for you?
You say he's in the starting eleven so shouldn't really count as a back up striker, but if we have sufficient depth in Son's normal position when Son goes upfront, why does this matter?

Winks has been a crock for the best part of two seasons now TBF. He keeps coming back from injury and then getting another knock.
Winks has two injuries in the two full seasons with the first team.
We 100% needed a new CM in the summer then anything else would’ve been a bonus.
I think this is last chance saloon for Lamela. Just signed a new contract but has already picked up two injuries

Fack knows. Can’t even do a warm up as a sub ffs
It does not matter how many Son scores, as long as the side wins and we are scoring.
When Kane has had his spells out, we tend to do well. Whether it has been Janssen or Son, the side adapts and others step up.
I am very excited about Moura. He is a far better player at holding up than I thought, and I would have no problem pushing Alli up alongside him if either Son or Kane are not available
Okay Spurs fans, let’s flip this on its head.
If you’re so well equipped, why aren’t you winning trophies?
I don’t mean that as a wind up.
Genuine question - what are you missing, if the quality of your squad is sufficient?

You forget we have not come from a position of strength, we have been slowly building this squad over Poch's 4 seasons when we were an absolute shambles.
Last season we were unfortunate with injuries and falling outs, lots of big players missed lots of games. Key men.
If this squad can stay reasonably fit, it is very very good

Question mark over Winks for sure now. Ideally we’d be looking for this to be a big season for him, one where he usurps Dembele can get a few games for the sake of keeping them both fresh, instead we’ve got to see if Winks can have the confidence and belief to be ambitious and expansive in his play, or just keep it safe just to ease himself in.

big game mentality's got to be an issue.

consistently coming 3rd or thereabouts in the league though shows that spurs do have quality.
