Pereira doesn't have takedowns. He's a kick boxer who's only had 7 mma fights. He could decide he wants to try and take Adesanya down but that would waste needless energy in a 5 round fight and Adesanya has terrific takedown defence.

Let's see how the fight goes but I still think Adesanya out points his way to a safe decision victory, whilst Periera is left frustrated that Adesanya didn't fight him in a toe to toe battle. Much like the Romero fight.

What a card.

Chandler vs Poirier was an absolute war and definitely contender for fight of the year. Poirier is so resilient in those types of fights and that's what ultimately won him the fight because both guys were hurt but Chandler was showing heavy damage.

Adesanya vs Periera was a great fight and a lot better than I thought it would be. I was actually surprised at how much Adesanya was willing to exchange with Periera and it cost him in the end. I had it 3-1 going into the final round and all it takes is one shot with Periera and that's what he landed.

The hype train was always going to come to an end when she fought someone that's actually good.

Gutted for Frankie Edgar. A true legend of the sport and one of the guys I grew up watching.

Probably one of the biggest punchers the sport has seen. I am still blown away by the fact that he was fighting at welterweight at one point.

He had some fantastic head kick knockouts too. Was one of my favourites many moons ago. RIP.

Certainly a shock death but it will be interesting to hear about the cause, as he seemed a young healthy man.

Always in this area Guv for sure, these guys the wrestlers etc always for me come with a pinch of doubt, especially when so young, and like some guys are still fighting at his age too

Francis has departed the UFC and Gane vs Jones will fight for the title.

Why fight a few times a year for "peanuts", rather than once and potentially earn more than his lifetime earnings in a boxing match. As far as Bones Vs Gane - will be honest that division looks a little flat atm and haven't really been that interested in a while. Again maybe why Dana isn't too bothered about letting Francis go, great fighter, but doesn't promote much, and seems to have been whining on and off for a better part of a few years while almost never fighting.

It's a bittersweet moment.

Jones coming back has certainly piqued my interest and I'm excited to see how he looks at HW. Unfortunately, Francis won't be there to greet him and as the best HW on the planet, I feel this new title fight will just be a consolation of sort.
