Two types of potato too.

Mashed with scallions sauted in buttermilk, and then roasted.

I'd line my roasties up against anyones. Gotta use the turkey fat.

Some daft American festival celebrating the day the Native Americans shared their bountiful harvest before they were all but wiped out by the 'thankful' European pilgrims.

Now most of the world have this day thrust upon us by those pesky yanks. It is now nothing more than the start of the Christmas sale season and a reason for Americans to get even fatter than they already are.

Don’t they celebrate Independence day for massacaring us Brits too?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's an actual cause to celebrate though

Of course. Then give them a little bit of a roughing up. Then turkey fat mixed with a little olive oil in a pan, simmer a bunch or rosemary and thyme for a few minutes, drain and coat the spuuds.

man, I can't wait.

Even went to an irish store the other day and bought a tub of celebrations. I tell you, those big tins of our childhood have gotten pathetically small these days.

yeah, any time I do roasties its olive oil in a pan and simmer some rosemary at least in it for a few minutes. Drain the oil and you get this lovely greenish fragrant oil for the spuuds.

I only add salt and pepper at the end of the roast

Christmas is for getting into debt to keep up with the Jones's in the children spoiling stakes
Also to fill a shopping trolley with stuff you'd otherwise never buy

I don't do either of those things btw, but I will be necking plenty of San Miguel

Honestly, I'm a bit of a beer snob, but I would never turn my nose up at what other people like. taste is personal. However, if you do like a nice lager or pilsner, something like Tannnen Zappfle from germany's black forest is just a class above.

Someone on here also recommended Tusker from SA I believe, recently.

For me, I'll have a few IPAs throughout the day before moving onto some slightly heavier, fancier barrel aged stouts as the temperature drops in the evening. Good, strong sipping beer as I settle into my slippers
