Both knock downs were more Fury being stunned than badly hurt. No chance you get back up if you took a clean shot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was caught perfectly on the chin, but yeah. Even still it's rare to see a boxer recover from a shot like that.

I still think AJ would beat Wilder, personally.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
AJ wouldn't get up from that hit though...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But AJ is likely to do more damage to Wilder before it gets to that point. AJ has knocked out most of his opponents too.
Nobody in the world would have got up from that, was nuts

AJ Wilder is interesting, both are easy to hit and pretty poor technically and both have power

Only takes a punch. Could happen in first minute or last.
it looked like a clean right followed by a clean left for the knock down in round 12
amazing how fury gets up and recovers so well after
real fighting man

Wilder would clean out AJ early, he can take a punch better than AJ can
AJ can't move around the ring like Fury can, but I think some people do underestimate his endurance. AJ's been hit with some decent shots and he's gotten through it relatively unfazed.
Also, everyone knows Wilder is a bit of a one-trick pony. It's easy to telegraph when he's going to use his right hand. Fury had his hands very low throughout the fight, which is why he got caught by Wilder. AJ wouldn't use a tactic that risky.
Pauline still not going mental at the Mexican judge...

AJ is by far a better boxer than Wilder, he's still a bit awkward but Wilder does nothing but swing

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Disagree.
AJ has taken big shots before and survived, namely from Wlad who is easily one of the biggest punchers in that division.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah. Give Wilder opponents like Whyte, Parker, Klit and Povetkin, and one of if not more causes him to go down.
Just want to say on a side note as some get a lot of $hit but that ref was really good tonight, just let them get on with it throughout and fair play to him for even doing his job and counting when Fury went down in that 12th round, most would have just waved immediately.
He managed to stay upright after some very hefty shots from Ortiz, who is probably a heavier puncher than 2, if not 3, on that list.
Genuinely convinced Parker or Whyte can beat Wilder.

i agree
i think a number of fighters out there would potentially beat wilder...not just AJ and fury
whyte and povetkin certainly
After this, anyone who thinks Wilder would beat AJ is a WUM. AJ would win comfortably. Wilder was shcooled and at points it was embarrasing

Good post
Was surprised at the lack of ruthlessness from Wilder after the knock downs. But you’ve really gotta take your hat off to Fury they way he responded after them. Bloody hard baaaastard.
We didn't see anything from Wilder that we didn't already know. He's awkward, not very good at boxing but very athletically gifted.

Ortiz wobbled him but even so that's just one next to those 4 who AJ has faced. Maybe you could add Takam also.
