Slavery still exists today. It is only in the West that it was abolished. It still thrives in Africa and Middle East, places who invented slavery.

Imagine a world where no-one said the Y or N word.

The problem would be what exactly?

Why create division? Why seperate ourselves and infer difference? Why not all read off the same sheet?
----------------------
that would be lovely, now actually come into the real world please
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes let's not even try.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your first statement is the problem though;

'Imagine a world where no-one said the Y or N word'.

We are not in that world, shame I know but that is the hard truth of it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I know Sizz. But we once had slavery, apartheid and being gay was illegal.

Happy to admit Im a bit if a SJW but I simply dont agree with it in any context.

When I was younger we (me included) used to call people gay if they felt pain or whatever.

No I dont.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I do see your point and it would be great if we could change our ways and live in a world that doesn't divide.

I did say in my earlier post maybe it's time for Spurs fans to stop using the word however, it won't stop racist fans using it against us imo.

Actually at its highest point in Britain in the last 200 years or something which is very sad.

I have to ensure our recruitment agencies we use abide by the modern slavery act, I think modern slavery (in terms of cheap labour and poor living conditions) is rife.

Robbing, do you think that if Spurs fans stopped using the Y word positively that Chelsea and West Ham fans would stop their anti-semitic chanting?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I dont think it would hurt.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay.

There's a problem with United fans chanting about the Hillsborough disaster.

Would it help if Liverpool fans didn't persist with the JFT96 campaign?

Cos that's your logic. It would help with the problem if the targetted fans didn't mention it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No it isnt... I've read the whole thread and dont really want to get into it but that isnt the case. The equivalent to the JFT96 campaign would be the 'kick it out' campaign and no one would want either to stop.

I simply dont think people should use racially based language in any context. If that makes me a bad person so be it.

Robbing's point was that it might quash some of the anti-semitic chants if Spurs fans stopped chanting about its jewish heritage.

I reached with my retort of this logic, sure. But fundamentally my point was that it wouldn't stop the United fans chanting about Hillsborough if Liverpool fans didn't mention it.

Caants will be caants regardless. They don't need an excuse although they may hide behind it.

-----------------
in any context? by saying it like that it implies if you were trying to explain to someone for example to not use the p word against a pak!stani person and they didn't know what that p word was you basically couldn't tell them because your moral compass makes you incapable of even spitting the word out? there is context plenty of it so stop saying there is no reason anyone should say a bad word

In part. I dont think it would finitely quash racist chanting, I simply dont think it helps. It's not meant as a blame game though by any means and can appreciate Spurs fans defence of using the Y word.
