Thought it was made up bollox to wum United fans until I saw the BBC link
Still sounds like a idiotic soundbite to commit for 20 years to a club. He could be walking next year and people will pull him up about it.
Just like K(F)lopp and his overspending comment and then splash 150 million on 2 players.
I think it's taken a little out of context to be honest, because he goes onto talk about how that isn't necessarily the best thing for him - using Wenger as an example.
For me, it came across as a guy who answers questions honestly. You can try reading what you like into it but the truth is, comments like this won't tell you whether he'd be interested in leaving for another job or not.
I can only imagine the meltdown the Spurs fans will have when/if he does a massive uturn in the summer and walks to join another club.
For £160m in wages with no pressure I would.
Thing is he also said:
"After nearly five years the club is at a different level, but how we operate in five years didn't change," Pochettino added on Monday.
"At the moment we operate in the same way as five years ago when we arrived. Maybe we can win some titles but it is going to be a tough job to do because in that situation every club in the last five years was improving a lot.
"I saw a stat that in the last 10 years we were bottom of the spending list in Europe. We are doing a fantastic job but if we want to be real contenders we need to operate in a different way in the future."
Which when you read the whole thing together reads as him saying "I want to stay but in order to keep me, and for spurs to win titles, I need more help than i'm currently getting" in my opinion.
I think Poch is being quite smart here.
I think he'd very much like to stay at Spurs and doesn't really want to move elsewhere. However, he also wants to be backed to take them to the next level.
If Levy doesn't give him guarantees then he can consider it fair game to leave and it'll look like the blame would be firmly at Levy's door.

Indeed. But it doesn't sound like he has any intention of moving this coming summer does it? Which rules a move to United out (at least for now).

Even if we don’t get Poch I can’t see Ole keeping the job unless he does something exceptional
Can see the club bringing in someone like Zidane or Blanc (not saying I’d necessarily want them over Ole)

Not at the moment perhaps but things can quickly change. If Levy tells Poch there isn't any funds for the summer then he could well be tempted elsewhere. Not necessarily to United either as Madrid could come calling.

In all honestly if we can't get our first choice, if it is Poch, then I'd rather Ole stay if he's done well between now and the end of the season.
He may not be the best manager out there but he could well end up being the best manager for us.

I think top 4 would be enough. The atmosphere around the club is much better. Top 4 has been the minimum requirement since SAF left. I know that Jose got the bullet before top 4 became impossible, but I think that was partly due to the fact that we were so far off the pace and didn't look like catching up and partly due to the fact that he couldn't keep his mouth shut. If Ole can get top 4, taking into account his starting position, I think that he will have done enough to earn a permanent deal.

Agree
With every day that passes I want Ole to become our manager just that little bit more. I also think it would be incredibly harsh to not give him a shot if he guides us to CL qualification seeing as that is how LVG and Jose were measured against.
It's not just the improved performances it's also the fact that the mood seems to have lifted a lot. It could be down to the 'Jose's left' and 'new manager bounce' effect but it's great to see the players running more, taking risks and playing with a smile on their faces.

Overly hasty on jose....bring him back
When you look at the games that Chelsea still have to play, I think there is a real possibility that we could catch them. The Spurs game is huge. If we can match or better Chelsea's result this weekend then I think we will have a great chance of top 4.
