Spurs press the ball well so we need to play with people that retain possession well. That automatically rules out Lukaku

I understand why you would want to play Lukaku, but why would you then drop Martial and play Rashford on the left? He has proven time and time again that he is the best option on the left.
Dunc, please forgive me. I deleted your post by accident.
If it aint broke don't fix it. Lukaku has been scoring when he comes on as a sub.
Keep leaving him on the bench and bring him on to score. When that stops, then we should sell him.
-------------------- DDG --------------------
Young ---- Jones --- Lindelof --- Shaw
------------------- Matic ----------------------
---------- Herrera ------ Pogba ------------
Lingard ------ Rashford --------- Martial
Unless Smalling is fit and comes in for Jones I can't see the need to change anything from the above.
Yes Lukaku has a few goals in as many games since coming back in, he's done well and should continue to, but Rashford has also had a good run of goals and assists as the main striker, as well as being part of the line up that's seen us play far better as a unit so far (albeit against weak opposition).
No need to change, Lukaku will get plenty of chances to start games I'm sure.
Dropping Rashford or Martial (Robb ) would be plain daft imo unles they're injured.
Mata cannot start vs Spurs, this isn't the game for him.

Pretty much.
To me there is no reason to change our front three what so ever just so that Nobb can have Lukaku in the team so that he can go and have a quick tug.
Why on earth would anyone want to take away the movement and energy those three bring?
By all means bring on the lump later on in the game.

That is not a reason to disrupt our front three in a game where we might need to keep possession up front.
Neither is one flick on that came off against Liverpool grounds to play Rashford on the left with the lump in the middle.

What forward line he goes for will be quite revealing about he is likely to set us up moving forwards. If he is still willing to play with the Rash, Martial and Jesse against a top team away from home then Lukaku should be worried. Lukaku from the bench is a good option for me, but I don't want to see him starting many games. Can't see him being happy with being a sub.

I found it funny that Lukaku had clearly forgotten about this action himself. He managed to get the better of Lovren and flick it on to Rashford. In the last game against the dippers, he decided to pull onto VVD instead and, unsurprisingly, got nothing out of him.
I feel that Ole likes Lukaku a lot more than people on here think. Despite the disrespect a lot of our more basic fans give him, Lukaku is a well respected striker with a very good goals record for his age.
Ole was a striker and will want to get the best out of him and relish the challenge

Based on what?
I know Lukaku is in form, but so is Rashford and my point is that Rashford has regularly outshone him in the big games. You can try and use Mourinho as an excuse (which is funny reading now) but it doesn’t wash when the comparison is with Rashford playing in tbe same team.

You feel that Ole likes Lukaku (as a player) because that is what you want to believe. I think that he might feel that Lukaku isn't particularly intelligent in his play.
Now, that isn't to say that he won't do his very best to get as much as he can out of Lukaku performance wise. And he may think that Lukaku is a good option to have for certain games/off the bench. But I am more inclined to believe that Ole will favour a more more dynamic forward line of Rash, Martial, Jesse and/or Sanchez, as it is more in keeping with our traditions as a club. Also, those 4 are more capable of pressing the opposition than Lukaku is.
