No it doens't. What even is your argument here? OK Phillips scored more goals than Bergkamp but he isn't a better player. OK, but Cristiano Ronaldo scored more goals than Bergkamp and he is a better player. Only in your mind. Let me try this one more time:

1) You're saying that because in certain examples where players who play the same position play that position in different ways you can't use goal stats to compare them, because they play completely different play styles, which is true.
2)BUT there is no link from that to the Hazard vs Sterling debate because Hazard and Sterling play the same role in the same way.
