Higgins has shown his class by making the final whilst not being anywhere near his best during this tournament. I wonder if playing someone like Trump will bring out the best in him. Not sure if having lost the last 2 finals that makes him more determined or more edgy.

Trump will have to cope with both being favourite and the expectation that he should have won a world title by now.

Don't have strong feelings either way as to who I want to win, maybe Higgins slightly just because he's lost the last 2, but just hope that it's a decent match.

but his match play ability and nerve are still better than most

still think trump will beat him with something to spare in the final though

Like most players who are getting on a bit, more errors creep into their game and the consistency isn't quite the same. A few years ago and you would put your house on Higgins coming back from 50/60 odd points down with a match winning clearance - now it doesn't quite happen as much. It really is some achievement for Higgins to reach a third consecutive final at this stage in his career - for all of O'Sullivan's success in recent years, he's badly faltered in recent WCs.

The head says Trump but perhaps the snooker Gods will let Higgins have one more glory day and he'll produce a performance form yesteryear in the final...

I've done pretty well with my predictions, so I will say Judd to win 18-13

Higgins makes a century and Judd responds with a century to take a 3-1 lead at the mid session interval.

John turned things around since the interval. He's literally potted everything and Judd has been frozen out. 4-3 to Higgins now. Real massive last frame of the session. I feel Judd really needs it!

High quality match so far

4-4 at the end of the first session. Both players have been playing very well so far.

Great opening session, all square in frames and 2 centuries apiece. Just getting a feeling that Higgins might do it this year.

Higgins not even getting near the jaws with his long pots. Needs to sharpen up a bit - total contrast to earlier in the match.

7-5 lead for Judd. Massive frame to win. Hope the mid session interval won't change things like it did this afternoon. With regards to that long screw back red Judd played which was frame ball. I was thinking noo Judd don't take this on what on earth are you thinking lol.

10-5 to Judd. Looking very good so far. Big final 2 frames. Judd would love to win at least one of them!
