Blades V Forest Match Thread

Once again thanks for posting the match day thread Bear.

I think we will all be glad when this season which for a while promised so much but has fizzled out so dramatically comes to an end. But only on the pitch (which is where it matters most I know). Off the pitch strides big and small have been made to reviving the club's enviable reputation; and let's all hope that continues.

I'll be at Trent Bridge tomorrow, but obviously keeping in touch via RN.

I'm not sure whether I should be looking forward to MON's team selection or not. I expect Yacob to start having been on the bench a couple of times. I don't expect to see Appiah.

All the things a team need to win a football match the blades seem to have a bigger supply than we do, so with that being the case and this being the Championship, I anticipate us executing the perfect smash and grab and coming away with all three points.

Can someone recommend a good counsellor?

The Championship has been a basket case all season, and I don’t see it changing now. The score could easily be 3-0 to either team, but I dare say we will try and eek out a draw. The Blades have personnel issues with suspension and injuries, whereas we just seem to have confidence issues, mainly through a lack of leadership. It’s seldom I would be happy with a defeat for us, but I would love to see the Blades snatch that last auto place, and you would think the dirties will beat Wigan. Our season has petered out, the performances are poor, and the feel good factor is fast evaporating. Despite mentioning 3-0 earlier I will go for a 2-1 win for the Blunts.

Will be travelling back home from Charmouth so will miss one too. Can’t say it is really going to cause a great deal of angst, I’ll admit. I’ll take a battling performance and a draw now. Just stem this run of defeats.

If Grabban isn’t motivated, play some of the kids.

Grabban wants to make the 20 goal mark, he'll definitely be motivated but could become frustrated if the service he gets doesn't improve.

Given the ref decisions we have had at Leeds, West Brom and Preston it’s laughable that he has been involved in match fixing.

But like any crime, if found guilty he will have to face his punishment

What about seizure of the proceeds of crime and fit and proper person though Bunk. Puts Forest in a precarious position. Hopefully you can find an honest owner after the dust settles. I notice you say "if found guilty", I assume that you believe him guilty but might wriggle out of the clutches of the law again.

This is probably the biggest game of the season for them in terms of what is at stake. Lose this and it will be a massive incentive for the dirties to go 6 ahead of them with three to play.

So how will it affect them. They could come at us like a train; or maybe they will crumble under the pressure.

They have key players missing - we have a chance of another upset.

Not with colback at left back again I feel this could be embarrassing

What an awful side that is!

Four CM / DM?!

No Carvalho or Robinson in the squad. Colback at LB. Milosevic on the bench.

MON is a joke. Win, lose or draw. He has to go.

Afternoon all...

Just an end of season game, looking at a mid-table final position. Which, in reality, is what most of us would have expected at the beginning of the season, especially after fighting against relegation for the last couple of seasons.

I do have other things I could be doing today, but I've paid my subscription to iFollow, so I will get my money's worth.

Can't see us getting any kind of result here, but we certainly won't wearing this god-awful yellow kit!

Any way, we're off...

At least Colback won’t be playing LB for us again. In fact this is probably his last game for us which is a shame. Possibly was player of season under Karanka but maybe behind Lolley

Having watched the incident a couple of times now, how it wasn't a penno, I'll never know.

Colback knocked the ball past the defender and the defender stuck out his leg to trip Colback.

I guess it is like the "keeper drops ball so it must be a foul against him" foul!!!

I missed the replay, but looked a pen to me.

Matty Cash cannot be too far behind those two either. I think personally we’ve made a step backwards again since the departure of Karanka

Completely agree. Guess we’ll never know why he left and he was certainly underachieving but I really felt if he’d had two seasons he’d have got us up.

I remember that, at the beginning of December, Colin Fray interviewed AK after a game. He seemed really pi$$ed off and brushed off a question from Colin about his unusual demeanour saying "just things", without elaborating.

Apparently, was not seen in Nottingham during the following weekdays. I assumed there was a family problem. From that pòint, our performances went downhill until the news that he had resigned, citing differences between himself and the club.

The rumour here in his hometown is that the DoF that the Greeks had hired was been interfering in the dressing room and with the selection of the team.

I agree with you, caniggia, that he would have got us up, if not this season then next.

That Red is harsh with players on the cover and minimal actual contact.

There was more contact with Colback who got booked for simulation

And now it’s 1-0 Sheffield

Played ref

Your more biased then Howard Webb was with man u.

Yeah could have been a really good season.

But then again this is Nottingham Forest so it isn't a surprise.

At least now we have taken a donkey off from midfield and brought on a defender that should of been in the pitch from the start
