Now the window is over I do think we have probably made good additions in Vallejo and Cutrone, and we’ll just have to wait and see with Neto and Jordao. At the end of the day we may just have replaced Costa and Cavaleiro with Vallejo and Cutrone as far as the first team squad is concerned.

We spent a total of £30m for Jiminez plus £12m on Dendoncker and about £20m on Cutrone and £22m on the two Portuguese lads. That’s about £84m and we got about £25m in for Costa, Cavaleiro and Hause so a net spend of about £60m. That’s a bit below par for a top half premier team and has to go down as a bit of a disappointment given the wealth of the owners and the Premier League income.

What has been encouraging is the investment in the U23 squad and hopefully we will see benefit from that in due course. Cristovao from Portugal, Shabani from Bayern, Nya from PSG,. Now we are in the top flight of the u23 league it will certainly be worth the occasional visit to Telford to see these guys and hope they can make the breakthrough to the first team squad.

Fosun will spend what it takes, but they also like to get value for money. They are shrewd in that respect.

I would ignore the figures of what was actually spent, and prefer to look at the value of what he have got.

I agree with DJ, we needed to move forward and we've only gone sideways.
Time will tell but we shall see if we move in the new year.

Definitely a disappointing window when all is said and done and we now have very little room to absorb injuries.

No loss at all letting Costa go whose position was basically obsolete but we should have kept Cav i think as a single injury to Cutrone, Jimenez or Jota(which will certainly happen at some stage during the season) leaves us with no viable option on the bench.

I fear we will be disappointed 9 months from now and fully expect a top player or two to be ready to move on as we likely take a small step back this season and it will be a big blow to the players if we don't get past Torino and that is a real possibility as well.

As seasons go even my slightly down prediction is far better than almost anything we have seen from Wolves in my lifetime so i won't be complaining, just a little disappointed in what i feel could have been a statement season.
