Griezmann is a pretty irrelevant point. He is a star player, £120m + £400k per week. That is the type of player we can't attract (not particularly want). Liverpool wouldn't be able to afford him either (again, not that they would want them)
If Griezmann had the choice of city or United it's a no brainer for him. He couldn't care less united are a better team, City have the best manager and a far superior team.
The players below that level are where we would compete. Joining spurs you would be joining a far better team and manager where you will grow as a player. Looking at recent history you are also likely to play champions league football every year.

Spurs could well lose two of their best players. They have done excellent to get to a CL final and have kind of fluked it to get there and have been shocking in the league for some time and only just scraped 4th thanks to their early season form and the other two been ridiculously inconsistent. Spurs need to spend a lot to keep up there imo, money I don’t believe they have
----------------------------------------------------------------------
United will lose their two best players in Pogba and De Gea over the next 12 months.
Not sure i see Kane leaving Spurs so i don't agree they will lose their best two players.
Some United fans are still clearly in cloud cuckoo land.

Pogba appears to be the one causing a lot of the discontent though. Plus I’d say Alderweireld and Eriksen are two of spurs better players

If you look at the most 'richest' clubs in the league, i.e. Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea, over the last 10 years in terms of transfers in, there must be close to a billion pounds wasted on dross. I'm not really complaining as it's exactly that that's allowed us to get where we are. One may say that hindsight is a wonderful thing, but I remember looking at some of these transfers at the time and thinking, why on earth are they going for him when there are so many better options out there? Off the top of my head:
Man City: Jesus Navas, Scott Sinclair, Rodwell, Jovetic, Claudio Bravo, Nolito
Chelsea: Drinkwater, Zappacosta, Morata, Batshuayi
Man Utd: Falcao, Di Maria, Sanchez
I'm sure there's a lot more.
Spurs fans getting big for their boots after a couple of higher placed finished.
At least we've won a league title in this decade. Spurs won't be the same level as United. You haven't won anything of note, I am hoping you beat Liverpool in the CL final, but if Spurs fans think they're a bigger pull than United and act like this...
Your wage structure isn't even close to ours. The most you've spent on a player is £42mil, not even half of what we bought Pogba for.
You've not even won any trophies in the last 10 years to compare to what we have won. Last year we finished 2nd don't forget.

Possibly not, but we know what happened to Jose when he questioned the set up
Also let’s not pretend Spurs have come on leaps and bounds. They’ve had a fairly poor league season. Been quality in the CL but they need to prove that’s not a one off.

I’ve already said you have done excellent to get there but please don’t tell me you weren’t massively fortunate
Lost 4 games in the competition. Scraped a last min equaliser against half a Barca side to get through with a shocking points total. Aguero missed a pen in 1st leg and really outplayed you in 2nd leg, completely outplayed by Ajax in 1 and a half matches and managed to scrape a last second winner. Well done for getting there but you can’t deny you have been extremely fortunate along the majority of the way

No guarantee mate. Liverpool were the biggest club side in the world in the 80s and went through a massive transition period during the 90s. Who’s to say United won’t go another 5/6 years in transition struggling ? They have been in transition since Fergie left and don’t seem to be improving anytime soon. Other clubs have taken over since and Spurs have emerged aswell. Long way to go for United mate.
I can see a fair few Utd talking about still be able to attract big names whilst seemingly ignoring that the ones they have are strongly tipped to want to leave.
Utd are miles away from the title.

United are going through a rough patch but don't kid yourself that we're not a decent managerial appointment away from competing from the league again.

I don’t think it’s just a case of the right manager. City were planning for Pep for years before he even signed, by building a backroom team familiar to him.
If we carry on with the model of manager and Woodward then we’re not improving at the rate we need to.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair point.
But then, I think the right manager wouldn't stand for the mess of an organisation we've become.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Possibly not, but we know what happened to Jose when he questioned the set up
Also let’s not pretend Spurs have come on leaps and bounds. They’ve had a fairly poor league season. Been quality in the CL but they need to prove that’s not a one off.

Don't mind Don, he could start an argument in an empty room

Not at all. Just think this guys playing down Spurs and making out United have a God’s given right to be up there. Facts prove united are nowhere near the level they once were and highly likely to reach that level
For a long time. Spurs are on the up and have been for years. Could you see United getting to a CL final right now ? Not a chance
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you on the up though?
Look at your form since January. You fluked getting to cl final and you could well lose two of your better players
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How did we fluke getting to the CL final? No fluke whatsoever. There on merit and bitter fans like you can't change that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’ve already said you have done excellent to get there but please don’t tell me you weren’t massively fortunate

I think we need to ask ourselves, could United get out of this rut and become one of the best clubs in Europe again. The answer to that is yes whether we like it or not. They are a massive club and I suspect we will see them re emerge again in the next few years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No guarantee mate.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
This post is basically an admission that to the top players Man United remains a bigger draw than Spurs, so what are you arguing about?

Reached their limits - UNLESS SOMETHING CHANGES.
I don't believe you can win the league with Spurs' level of investment in the squad. Not a chance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your argument was Spurs couldn't win unless something changes ignoring the fact there is even less chance of United doing so unless they have major changes in how the club is run.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't ignore it at all.
I suggest you re-read my post.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll do it for you:
Unless you invest in your squad properly, you'll never get there.
United will invest. The only issue is having the right manager and the right investment.
We both have issues but one could argue that we're more likely to resolve ours before you resolve yours.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't support Spurs.
Not once before did you address United having more issues that Spurs so that's why you replied because you realised if i read back you would look silly having avoided my point.
Your club is in a mess from top to bottom, Spurs have just built a new stadium and are in a CL final.
They are on the rise, you haven't stopped the fall.

Football fans and people in general have become so short term.
United are going through a rough patch but don't kid yourself that we're not a decent managerial appointment away from competing from the league again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No your not mate, stop deluding yourself. You have gone through 4 managers since Fergie left and one of them being supposedly the best in the world at the time ( Mourinho ) and you are still in transition. United are miles off where you once were.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're deluding yourself if you think I'm wrong.
You think Klopp or Pochettino couldn't turn United into title challengers within 2-3 years?
Get real.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But you ain’t getting Klopp or Pochettino dude so dream on
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't say we were you moron.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's that Winston debating style again. The one he is so quick yo jump on when someone else dares to question him and so quick to throw the "why are you so wound up/angry" line out whilst calling people morons.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's one of the Liverpool gang, here to make things personal and add absolutely nothing to the debate. Shock horror.
