Harry Maguire would do an excellent job in a Conte system.

In Italy maybe. The problem isn't the system is that he's just not very good at playing against pace and there's a lot of it in the PL

Thats not true though, he just isn't good at playing in a high line (no better or worse than Dier is) and at Conte he'd be able to play deep enough that the game would be in front of him.

Yeah they're both slow and immobile

I actually like Maguire. He made the wrong choice going United when they was in a bad way.

Excellent is a stretch. He would do a job. But then again most defenders who have faults would be decent in a back 3. Lenglet for example. Wouldn't trust him in a two but in a three, he is ok.

Maguire has an error in him like Dier. Fook him.

They paid that much for him largely cos of his England performances IMO. Yeah he stood out at Leicester but not 80m. You're forgiven a lot more there for the odd dodgy moment

Yeah he was at people let media opinion sway their minds quite easily. The mistakes he largely makes is when he gets turned and in the Dier role he'd be excellent and in the Davies role I'm not sure how adept he is at being aggressive - but the on-ball aspect of him he'd excel at.

I don’t think they overplayed due to England performances.

I think they over payed because they are United.

You've got to have recovery pace in the Conte system as a wide CB or it'll all fall apart. I think he'd be a minor upgrade on Dier

Ben Davies has frequently been recorded as being the slowest member of the Spurs squad so about recovery pace, that isnt true.

Maguire would be good enough for us in our current team (& managerial requirements), in fact I'd say he would be excellent.

Under Poch's system he would suck - so it would be quite a short term signing.

If he played like he did for England, sure. He'd be good. But his head clearly went in the league. Maybe he's been found out or maybe he just needs a change of scenery? Either way he's a slightly better Dier IMO. Ok but not what we should be looking at

We need to stop talking about players who have an error in them like Sanchez, Dier and Davies.
