Anyone that doesn't believe we struck a deal with Bayern on Monday for Kane needs their heads testing. This is exactly what we did with the Bale deal.

"Do us a favour, don't tell the world the deal is done, we don't want selling clubs to know we've got this money"

Can't say I'm disappointed anyway. It finally gives us a chance to move on from the circus. We improved after Bale left, the same can happen again.

Yeah 100% thats what happened with Bale. We started making loads of signings while Bale was technically still here and we all got excited, but then of course his departure was announced!

I think its a p!sstake though, buying CBs shouldn’t be dependent on Kane money. This would also leave us with a massive squad of players surplus to requirements - those 6/7 players are the ones who should be sold to raise funds & trim the squad.

Yeah I’ll probably have a moment but I’ll move on pretty quickly, so long as we (mostly) get the players we need.

Seems like the activity is ramping up a bit again at least!

Yep, I don't think we're find it easy to get them off the payroll. They're in a cushty position. Living in London on big wages. Even if we had the best negotiators in the world, we can't force a contracted player to leave. If he wants to rot in the reserves, ultimately he can. That's the problem. The players we want to get rid off will have to take a significant pay cut to leave. I mean, would you do it? I can't really blame them. We're just going to have to wait for their contracts to run down. This is the problem Chelsea are going to run into I think.

On a separate note, the impending loss of Kane is balanced a little by the knowledge that we're finally going to be playing front foot football. Can you imagine losing him during the Jose/Conte years. Christ, it doesn't bear thinking about.

I have just watched SSN with Tim Vickery talking about him.

He didn't seem that impressed!

He thinks he has potential but doesn't think he is good enough to play in the prem at the moment.

Said he watched him a lot last season. His style is a target man, very strong for his age and scored good headed goals but says the league he plays in is a poor standard these days.
