The saga continues, Harry’s prepared to sign a new deal now according to The Metro!

What the article is omitting to say is that Kane is ready and prepared to sign a new deal IF there is significant improvement at the club. So a huge IF. I still can't see why Kane would agree to sign any new contract right now when he will hold all the cards next summer.

Alejo Véliz has agreed personal terms with #thfc and the player wants to join — long term contract in place.
@FabrizioRomano
He plays with GLC's brother who is a CDM.

I have just watched SSN with Tim Vickery talking about him.
He didn't seem that impressed!
He thinks he has potential but doesn't think he is good enough to play in the prem at the moment.
Said he watched him a lot last season. His style is a target man, very strong for his age and scored good headed goals but says the league he plays in is a poor standard these days.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This gives me a good feeling about him then

I can’t see it either.
Finally we’re seeing Poch’s rebuild - 5 years later than expected
The only problem I see for Kane if he don’t move now is everyone he’d be tempted to go to are getting strikers in.
So would give us a good chance if we progressing

Tim Vickery was the guy who was telling us all about how immense Paulinho was before we signed him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Careful. He also said he was unimpressed with Royal and couldn't understand why we'd spent so much. he was definitely right there.
Anyway, this lad can't be the cover should Kane leave as they want to keep hold of him for another six months.

Royal still our best RB since he signed

Also is £20m considered a lot?

I don't actually think Kane will be replaced in this window. Ritchie will be given the striker role, with Son as the alternative. I wouldn't be surprised if we got in another wide forward instead to give options there.
As others have said, Toney in January would make sense. But I think that between Son, Ritchie, Solomon, Kulu, Maddison, GLC (if he can finally put a consistent shift in) we have goals and arguably don't need another striker.
Not for a second saying we won't miss Kane or I wouldn't much rather keep him, just to be clear.
"He's an attacking right-back, a strapping figure in the mould of Maicon, which might not impress Tottenham fans as much," he told Sky Sports News.

Ah is that where that rumour came from? I remember reading scout reports at the time which all said he was a solid defender who'd done well at RCB in a back 3, but for some reason the line was going around that he was a good wing back option - must have been Vickery being an idiot and the rumour stuck
We’re allegedly all over Brennan Johnson aswell if Kane is sold
I've just watched that Vickery clip and I think we should temper expectations a little. The descriptions in some outlets as 'wonder kid' are a little absurd. If he were, there's no way he'd be costing 10 million. I don't think we can ignore Vickery's assessment just because we don't want to hear it. Maybe he's right. The strikers that tend to excel from South America tend to be the tricky, small dribblers, not the strapping target men.
Saying that, this is clearly the data model recruitment policy in action and I guess we have to have some faith in it. The only reason I'm cautious is because I think he was bang on about Emerson and he's applying the same logic here.
Allow Tim Dickery. He is just another Spurs fan with an ill advised opinion like all of us.

He’s interesting to listen to but not really worth using as a source.
Talks about the league being weak but Alvarez has already shown that he is of top quality
I mean I don’t think many people have any expectations of him as I’m sure no one knew of him until today
He was right in one sense about Emerson, ie. the fact he's not all that good - but that's kinda a 50/50 call anyone can make about any player, isn't it.
He was completely wrong about the style of player Emerson is, which suggests he hadn't actually watched him much and was just making a vague judgment call about his ability, which just happened to turn out correct.
Appreciate it's all supposition but it does cast doubt on his ability to spot talent. He's not got the best track record there.
I also reckon more tricky South Americans succeed abroad just because there are way more tricky South Americans than big lumps. Based on that YouTube video there's clearly talent to work with - good movement and a good variety of goal types scored, and he seems physical and quite quick. Not saying he'll be a worldie obviously but I'd be very optimistic about Veliz as a long-term prospect
