I would be delighted if we failed to sign Gallagher. I've flip flopped a bit on him but just see him as a pretty limited player he's basically Hojbjerg on speed. Technically he's not the best and I thought Wharton looked like a better more rounded player when he came on for England.

I'm not so sure now. After that Bosnia game, I think I'm finally seeing why Ange wants him so much. He covers every single blade of grass and technically he's improving, plus he has an eye for goal. I'm quite happy that it's now looking like we're shaping up for a bid. Villa might be the only stumbling block. I just wonder whether a true blue is going to want to cross the divide so easily. CL football and a move that won't pizz off the Chelsea fans might end up appealing. Depends on the draw of London I suppose. Another thing that might work in our favour is the public knowledge that Ange is desperate to get him in. He'll want to play for a manager that truly wants him, not one that's suddenly showed a bit of interest with a bit of CL money in their pockets.

Got a semi tbh

I would be happy with Gallagher for cheaper than £50m. He is a leader and as Fridge says covers alot of ground. HG and upgrade on PEH. Only 24 as well so he can get better.

Don't care about his Chelsea allegiance. Rice was West Ham through and through but kept up his performance levels at Woolwich. Gallagher will do the same.

Apparently our first bid for Gallagher is going in.

If we were the only club in for him, we might be able to do a deal but with Villa sniffing, Chelsea won't lower their demands to a level Levy will likely go to. I don't think he'll sanction 50m for a player with one year left and frankly I think, although he's a good player, he's not that good. Maddison was 10m less and he's been one of the best creators in the Prem for a long time now.

Kane went for 90m with one season left and he's ten times the player Gallagher is. Maybe the figures are wrong. I think whoever he goes to will end up paying closer to 40m.

I'm not so sure. He's perfect for a system where Ange likes to regain possession higher up the pitch. We don't have anyone as tenacious as him. Sarr is very mobile but he's not at Gallagher's level. I'm quite keen on this move. I think Spurs fans would warm to him fairly quickly. I'd much rather see us sign someone Prem proven than go for the foreign gamble. Plus we need English lads in the squad.
