Also kinda sad that Sessegnon never worked out. I figured he'd at least be a solid LB for us for years
he wasnt that bad just injuries a joke and ruined his career. could we have predicted that before signing?
Yeah course not. That's why I'm sad. If they're straight up not good enough it's whatever but this is definitely a what coulda been

Apparently our first bid for Gallagher is going in.
Chelsea want £50M.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If we were the only club in for him, we might be able to do a deal but with Villa sniffing, Chelsea won't lower their demands to a level Levy will likely go to. I don't think he'll sanction 50m for a player with one year left and frankly I think, although he's a good player, he's not that good. Maddison was 10m less and he's been one of the best creators in the Prem for a long time now.
Kane went for 90m with one season left and he's ten times the player Gallagher is. Maybe the figures are wrong. I think whoever he goes to will end up paying closer to 40m.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i really dont want him. He's limited.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not so sure. He's perfect for a system where Ange likes to regain possession higher up the pitch. We don't have anyone as tenacious as him. Sarr is very mobile but he's not at Gallagher's level. I'm quite keen on this move. I think Spurs fans would warm to him fairly quickly. I'd much rather see us sign someone Prem proven than go for the foreign gamble. Plus we need English lads in the squad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I did agree with your view but the more i have seen him play, and especially in internationals, the more i see him as a more energetic Hojbjerg.
He's a bit headless chicken, dog chasing a ball as a runs around the midfield.
I agree he's better than hojbjerg, ticks a few more boxes, but at £40+m i would rather we spent elswhere.
We seem fixated on him as he a contract rebel and thus cheaper than otherwise would be.
Reminds me a bit of United going for Mount last season. They would not have made him a priority unless he was available for less then market value, and look how its turned out, not great.

But whilst PEH might have a little more craft in terms of finding a pass, we already have players that can do that. What we don't is what Gallagher offers - a rabid desire to chase down everything and goals from midfield. I think he's improved dramatically this year. If we don't sign him, I guarantee he'll be one of the standout players for either Chelsea or Villa next year. Let's face it. Him and Palmer have dragged Chelsea from nowhere to 6th. We'd be lucky to get him, frankly. Could be a future captain. If we sign him for 40-50m and make 25m on PEH, that's a good deal in my eyes. Major upgrade.

Do we actually think Bergvall will be given a proper chance in the first team or will he just be chilling om the bench until a loan move in 6 years time?
Is he even ready? Is he better than options we have?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thinks he’ll be starting all cup games and then coming off bench in the league for this season

Will he be ahead of Skipp in the pecking order (if skipp stays that is)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think Skipp will prob start as the 6 and Berg as the 8 for Europa
Skipp
Berg Donely
Given up on writing Bergvall already?
I think we'll see Berg sub for Sarr for a while. Maybe a loan at Christmas if he looks out of his depth
Think B will be a main starter by January
I largely think you can only judge a signing based on the information at the time - and what happens after is the risk (ie Ndombele made sense at the time but didn't work).
What do you think the worst Spurs signing is of all time?
1, Ndombele
2, Soldado
3, Bentley
4, Lo celso
5, Bent
Ndombele is easily the worst even with the caveats
Hon. mentions Sanchez, Soldado, Gil, Sessegnon
You didnt think Ndombele made sense at the time?
Mine is Gil, absolutely mad to chuck that amount of resources on a player who kinda obviously wouldn't make it.
Made sense but been a disaster.
Maybe but he's still the worst. Understanding why someone made an awful mistake doesn't make the mistake less awful

Yeh he's been shocking. I'd have Helder Postiga in your list based on your criteria.
Lack of due diligence, bending over on the fee, signing off on those wages.. All in all a chitshow from start to finish
