not sure we will sign a back up keeper didnt forster extend another year and also Austin signed a contract. pretty facked if Vicario gets injured but just thinking of the clubs logic

----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s not an AM.
DM/B2B will be where he’ll end up but short term probably be Porros back up
Rodon going the other way for £10m equates to about £8m profit
Gray coming in at £35m over 5 years = £7m annual cost.
So in terms of our books its a neutral impact this season.
If Emerson goes we'll need to clear about £10m to show any sort of profit. If PEH goes then a deal iro £15m would be £10-11m profit
So all in all, dealings so far that will not really be hammering our budgets, so should leave a bit of room for the real spending - the Eze & Toney size deals.
Don't think Gray is a DM but do think we need a proper player in this area.

how have you got Rodon at £8m profit if we signed him for £11m?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because we signed him 4 years ago.
For book purposes (FFP/PSR etc) he devalues at an equal rate over the term of his contract. £11m over 5 years = £2.2m a year, so his book value is currently £11m - (4 x £2.2m) = £2.2m. Sell him for £10m and it will read as £7.8m profit on player trading.
Its often why clubs hang on to players for another season even though they contribute little because a year later their book value is lower so you can accept a lower offer and still make a profit or break even, where as a year earlier the same offer would read as a loss.

Dunno man. Wonder if they will include it in football manager games? I was going to say we might need to know about it IF we ever reach our PSR limit but then I remembered Levy lol.
Be nice to know where we stand with PSR all the same. I know Ipswich publish their PSR summary in their accounts. One of very few clubs to do so.

Yawn.
Have we not just seen all the clubs that were worried get around it.
At no point can it be made we just about to make a profit on Roden. None whatsoever
Also Neto can play both wings and the lad Doue at Rennes has played in 8 different positons during his short career but recently played left wing and CM alot.

Total wage bill would be deducted from revenue along with other costs. In Rodon's case, Leeds may have paid for his wages for the season he was on loan maybe?
It's confusing because it's not profit and loss in the traditional sense. It's like if you bought an office chair for £100 and used it every day. After 5 years it's basically worn out and worth nothing, a company would expect to throw it away. But if you sell it for £20 you count it as a win even though you've lost money.
With low value players like Rodon it kinda works to say we've done ok. But say we'd got 5m for Ndombele.. the amortization rationale of making a sale sound good wouldn't work, because we've lost so much money for so little return.
