Winks is decent

Last really good Winks preformance?

Wolfsberger or Palace, whatever one was more recent

Actually Palace was ok to good

I'm thinking 2017 against Real for the last standout preformance that made me think 'we've got a real player here'

Winks had a really great game against Newcastle at the start of the season iirc

Also had a fantastic stretch about 14 months ago

Winks is fine but not with this manager

Confidence and trust in him all gone and he doesn't know what his role is.

Regardless for him to leave it would be best for his career and probably for spurs too. Don't know where he goes though? I don't truly believe those city rumours but if true he'd just be another Ake for them but probably play less.

Actually I think Winks is just not impressive with Jose more so than the other way round.

If Fernandinho goes in the summer I can definitely see city sniffing around for winks again

if he's smart, he'd take any offers. Go and improve career and money.
Little too clumsiesque and not solid enough for the top sides

Winks wouldn't get the game time be needs really though and he's not a direct fernandinho replacement, defensively Winks is pretty poor, would take some Pep genius to make that work

He's what pep wants from that position on the ball and pep has shown that he can work through the defensive limitations of certain players


City always in need of homegrown players too

So are we which is a problem

City are fine to meet the HG premium on a player, like with Ake

If we get rid of winks and keep sissoko it's a problem

He was as good if not better in the CL final.

Newcastle he was excellent in this season and one of the Saints/Utd hammerings he was great in too

I can't remember him doing anything of note in the final though neither did the rest of them to be fair.

Pep likes players that are tidy in possession, sure. But a Fernandinho replacement he ain't.

Pep will play him in the same position as Fernandinho, he'll back up rodri like Fernandinho

The fact he's not as good defensively doesn't mean much, I don't think they'll be overly concerned about that. They weren't about rodri

Yeah I don't think he'll be bad for them at all probably fit in nice, but I would prefer to see him go somewhere and play every game

Yeah I thought he was good too and one of the ones who came out with their head held high that night. But two game vs Madrid he was a different level and stood out more.

Liverpool game seemed dead after 20 seconds and just played out like a friendly.

Yeah because ornstein already reported city's interest in winks last year and guardiola called winks exceptional a few years ago
