Nagelsmann does strike me as the sort of coach who might have a bit of a rough introduction to the Premiership - his tactics are crazy-attacking and high-risk, and he might be surprised at how competitive games in the Prem are, even against the small sides.
That said, Nagelsmann also strikes me as the sort of manager who's very prepared to learn from his mistakes, and very capable of modifying his approach accordingly. A bit like Pep in that respect - his City style is similar to his Barca setup, but different in key ways to work in the Premiership. It's a bit quicker, a bit more physical and direct.
I would back Nagelsmann to come good in the higher echelons of the Premiership above Potter and Ten Hag, but I think I'd be happy with any of them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I think he's still a good manager and a good choice, as long as he's given time to implement his style, as with any of them.
I keep watching Brighton though and I think that's what I want us to look like, minus the bad finishing, which shouldn't be as much of a problem for us. Potter seems to have all areas of his team covered. I heard they have kept the most clean sheets this year barring City and Chelsea.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've got no problem with Potter either, if we can't get Nagelsmann. The fact that Brighton can't score is no reflection of his abilities in that area. You can coach a team patterns of play and set pieces to increase the amount of chances you get, but the one thing you can't teach is how to put the ball in the back of the net. Brighton would be so much higher with a decent finisher.
For me it's these in this order.
Nagelsmann
Rodgers
Potter
We won't get the first two so Potter would be my next choice. Give him a chance. Pochettino didn't exactly have a massive reputation when he came to us. He built it WITH us. Potter over Sarri or Ten Hag all day long.
I rate Potter. But if we are going to take that sort of gamble Daniel Farke would be my shout.

I didn't realise Sarri has managed as many as 20 clubs, and he's never stuck around for more than 3 years at one.
Don't want him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
While I don’t want him, that isn’t particularly fair. He started as a banker (I think?) who coached on the side and started out with lots of low level clubs.
His first Serie B or above job wasn’t until Pescara
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My issue isn't his credibility. He had Napoli playing some lovely football. My issue is that he's in his 60s on 80 a day. I wouldn't call that a long term choice if you catch my drift.
I'm not as high on Rodgers as everyone else
Maybe he's improved as a man manager but a lot of his ex players dont really seem to have great things to say about him, think the players find him just as annoying as fans

Good manager but not sure his interviews will go down well for a global audience. He sounds and looks like he's furiously tugging himself at the point of climax. The shaky, fast-paced talking is not a good look pre-watershed.
I wouldn’t want him either fridge (I’m done with ex Chelsea managers) I was just disputing that point.

We don’t have the squad for pressing football (think only Dele, Moura, Bergwijn and GLC suit it from our current midfielders and attackers). His tactics definitely suit the German league but wouldn’t necessarily translate stylistically (high line could get ruined). Also he is trophyless which is typically a stick used to beat every other manager who hasn’t won anything who has come to spurs
Ten Hag could get best out of Bergwijn potentially
He’d get the best out of most are attackers as long as they can play close-control football with intricate passing (Lucas facked then)
We saw some good combos 2nd half with the midfield 3
What I would say is that nagelsmann is very tactically flexible so I could see him dialing back the pressing for us and focus on a possession game like pep and Tuchel have done this season - football seems to be moving away from such frantic pressing though that might just be because of the schedule this season
I do like the cut of potters jib.... But too soon for him I fear.

I don't really see why it's too soon for Potter? He's managed in Europe before and is currently managing a lower PL team. A step up to a mid-table PL team seems about right.

Wouldn't pick Martinez but I do think we'll end up with someone outside of this league. If you're another PL club answering a call and you hear "Hi, this is Daniel Levy" you're going to put the phone down or tell him where to go. Everyone hates his guts now. Hasn't even apologised for the ESL yet. He's a PR disaster.
Hasn't Martinez done surprisingly well with Belgium? Maybe he's improved as a manager. You never know. He's a likeable enough bloke and (from what I recall) plays fluid football with a weak spine, so he'd fit in perfectly at Spurs

He's done well with Belgium but let's not kid ourselves, with the quality they have in their team it kind of speaks for itself. I'd rather look at what he did domestically.
Won Wigan an FA cup but got them relegated at the same time. After a very good debut season at Everton they finished in 11th place twice. For me it's all too mixed.
Skillset for international managers is very different to to club managers these days imo
