1) contract made it cheaper to sack him outside the top 6
2) wanted to bury the story
3) didn't want to give him a chance to win a trophy
4) wanted to get the fans back onside
Are my current theories
----------------------------------------------------------------------
absolutely. all of those are why. cant blame Levy at all for this sacking or the timing really, might have even been too late if anything.
noticed the radio doing the paddy power ad with Jose on a lot more since his sacking

I think Levy did Jose's rep a favour. Better to be sacked before a final and leave a "what if" question mark about whether he could have won us something, than managing in the final, getting trounced, and putting any other clubs off him further.

This
If Potter got the job I’d love him to bring Bissouma with him
What happened to Sarri? He was class at Napoli
Potter doesn't look like he's on our radar. That would be a shrewd choice but Levy doesn't do shrewd anymore.
I think I'd now have Potter as my favourite over Nagelsmann now (I've switched them over), just cause of Nagelsmann's inexperience in the league.

Nagelsmann does strike me as the sort of coach who might have a bit of a rough introduction to the Premiership - his tactics are crazy-attacking and high-risk, and he might be surprised at how competitive games in the Prem are, even against the small sides.
That said, Nagelsmann also strikes me as the sort of manager who's very prepared to learn from his mistakes, and very capable of modifying his approach accordingly. A bit like Pep in that respect - his City style is similar to his Barca setup, but different in key ways to work in the Premiership. It's a bit quicker, a bit more physical and direct.
I would back Nagelsmann to come good in the higher echelons of the Premiership above Potter and Ten Hag, but I think I'd be happy with any of them.
I didn't realise Sarri has managed as many as 20 clubs, and he's never stuck around for more than 3 years at one.
Don't want him.

Yeah I think he's still a good manager and a good choice, as long as he's given time to implement his style, as with any of them.
I keep watching Brighton though and I think that's what I want us to look like, minus the bad finishing, which shouldn't be as much of a problem for us. Potter seems to have all areas of his team covered. I heard they have kept the most clean sheets this year barring City and Chelsea.

Yeah, that's damning. I didn't realise that either. Mourinho-esque, just over a longer period.
You'd hope Levy would have learned from his mistakes, but then I suppose you'd hope he would've never hired Mourinho in the first place, would've apologised for the ESL debacle properly, etc etc etc

While I don’t want him, that isn’t particularly fair. He started as a banker (I think?) who coached on the side and started out with lots of low level clubs.
His first Serie B or above job wasn’t until Pescara
