I’m calm.

Ok, well, I am sorry if I offended you. I did not mean to be disrespectful towards anyone who had died, I didn't even have them in mind when I made my comment. I apologise.

Why do so many people hate cyclists so much?
I'll confess I don't cycle, I've got a bike but am too scared to go on the roads
———————
What a facking pansy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think you're pretty nuts to cycle in London tbh. It is dangerous (although cyclists don't help themselves by behaving recklessly in the first place)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Moronic generalisation and victim blaming. Disgusting and an insult to those who have died.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair, this comment seems to work on the opposite basis, that cyclists are always victims.
Why doesn’t everyone just accept that there are ar*ehole cyclists and ar*ehole drivers, ar*ehole pedestrians and ar*ehole van drivers.
Belonging to any given one of those groups doesn’t mean your ar*ehole tastes sweeter.

My comment did nothing of the sort.
Hope this helps.
Oh and if you want to get into it, yes there are arseholes in all forms of transport. The difference is that cyclists and pedestrians aren’t operating a machine that frequently kills people.
The average person cries about cyclists yet it’s drivers who are the actual problem in society, generally speaking.
“Victim blaming “ infers that cyclists are the victims. Answering one generalisation with another does little to help the cause.
But it’s hardly a novelty for you to fail to see the flaws in your arguments and to argue that your comments are misconstrued. Par for the course when it comes to you though.
Ftr, I have no problem with cyclists whatsoever, just with ar*eholes, regardless of what stripes they wear.

There was no generalisation. You’re wrong.

Absolute joke.
I’ve knocked 3 people over in London because they walk out with phones and don’t look. Frustrates the hell out of me as I damage my bike. I don’t care about them. Next one that does it is getting their phone smashed
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh shut up you absolute belllend.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Imagine a bloke like Steaky in Lycra threatening to smash my phone
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I remember the idiot a few months back telling me how he smashes wing mirrors off cars when he sees drivers on their phones.
Dunno what's worse, being that much of a nob or lying about being that much of a nob.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Neither are as bad as being a Liverpool fan from London.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t wear Lycra and the only weasels are the morons who use their phone when driving. I had a serious accident because a women jumped a stop sign and smashed into me while she was on her phone. I’ve had two operations and taken 2 years to walk properly again
I will continue to smash wing mirrors off cars with people on their phones.

Was it a case of them not using their wing mirrors properly? Or perhaps some weasel was going around smashing them off?

I can understand your frustration but I'm not sure vigilantism is the answer, particularly when those drivers probably have no idea why you've done what you've done?
You'll most likely end up in trouble with the police as well.
Your best bet, if you can be bothered, if to put a camera on your head and then submit the footage to the police. 6 points plus the fine, it won't be long before those idiots are banned.

Where in your original comment did you establish a difference between the group of individuals he referred to and those you referred to as victims?
it'sonlyagame (U6426)
This is ridiculous.
I said he was victim blaming.
That in no way implies that every cyclist death is the driver's fault. It just doesn't.
You made a mistake - get over it.
There's nothing in your post to suggest that the subject of your victim-blaming comment wasn't the same group of people Wahl referred to.
That you know every cyclist death isn't the fault of a car driver is no more or less obvious than the idea that Wahl thinks every cyclist 'has it coming' so as to speak, but you wilfully chose to ignore the bleedin' obvious so you could use the remark as a platform for your faux outrage.
One rule for you and a different one for everyone else, is it?
it'sonlyagame (U6426)
Either you're not prepared to admit your error or you're too stupid to realise it.
This comment implies that cyclists who have died contributed to their death with reckless behaviour:
"cyclists don't help themselves by behaving recklessly in the first place"
I called him out on it, and said it's victim blaming.
Because it is.
I didn't say anything to imply that it applied to every death and I don't need to caveat my comments in that manner - anyone with a brain cell would be able to understand, particularly when a follow up post shortly after made it absolutely clear.
You're wrong.
I'll make this really clear for you.
If you see a headline saying '100 cyclists killed on the roads this year' and there is a comment underneath that says 'cyclists don't help themselves with their reckless behaviour', then it's victim blaming.
This is so facking basic it hurts.
I will continue to smash wing mirrors off cars with people on their phones
