Sandy, Sandy, Sandy... I really don't know why I'm doing this, but here you go...
PL transfer spend so far this summer:
Aston Villa – £112million
Leicester City – £78million
West Ham United – £69million
Manchester City – £67.9million
Tottenham Hotspur – £66.5million
Manchester United – £65million
Southampton – £49million
Wolverhampton Wanderers – £45million
Chelsea – £40.2million
Newcastle United – £40m
Everton – £30.5million
Brighton & Hove Albion – £22.5million
Sheffield United – £22million
Bournemouth – £17million
Burnley – £11.5million
Arsenal – £6million
Watford – £5.5million
Norwich City – £3.65m
Liverpool – £1.3million
Crystal Palace – £0
Now... go have a beer!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Drinking beer dehydrates you in hot weather. Not a good combination.
Aston Villa a promoted side, spent twice as much as Spurs a CL side.

Also just announced Saliba.
Tierney looks to be back on too.
All three were linked, to varying degrees, to Spurs.
Nice new stadium though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You are getting your business done mate, looks like all of your targets you will get over the line, as usual with Spurs they are promising much, but delivering very little on the transfer front. They may surprise us all, but I doubt they will be changing habits of a lifetime.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We. Have. Signed. The. Same. Number. Of. Players. As. Them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We are a CL club, they are a ropey league one, so signing the same amount of players as them, is not really that great.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We've signed more players than liverpool.
The problem is you are saying that "arsenal are getting their business done" but spurs arent when we have done the same amount of business
Then when arsenal are being linked to players you say "looks like you're gonna get all your targets over the line" but when we are linked with anyone you go "not gonna believe it until I see them in the shirt, total b*llocks"
You have no reason to believe one of these things but not believe the other
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool spent a fortune last season rectifying the weak points of the side. The sort of thing Spurs should be doing this season. Liverpool set the blueprint, not that hard for Spurs to follow it.

Spurs did it within our budget and now we have money to spend and a new stadium too
When we have concluded our business then we can review the market dealings.
Right now, you mention Arsenal but they have practically got nothing. They have a massive problem with their defense, with their captain, with their midfield and only the two up front gives them any positivity
Instead of addressing their defense, they bough a defender and loaned him back - do you call that a good strategy when they have a very tight budget?

This is a team that despite all their problems finished just one points behind Spurs, and had they not imploded would have almost certainly finished above Spurs in a CL spot. Spurs are not so much in front of Arsenal, as a lot would have you believe. They should be, but they way they finished last season, CL aside, I would not be surprised if they don`t add any more players, if they drop behind both Arsenal and United next season.
As I said two or three weeks back, when it looked like Spurs were really going to splash the cash, hopes were high, not so sure now.

Agree mate, ridiculous of Spurs supporters to ridicule that loan deal, when you are getting a very good player.
Well even when we were playing in the same competition as Real, I don't think any sensible Gooners would've put us on the same level as them.
Hopefully he won't be our major signing this summer, but he looks a good player and gives us a bit of depth where we needed it post-Ramsey.
There's rumours he doesn't get on with Zidane (who does?) so if it works out well this season he might even be tempted... nah, way too soon for any of that. But you never know...
This is a team that despite all their problems finished just one points behind Spurs,
=============
This is a point that I should think you would know the reason why.
Spurs were at one stage in the title contention even as late as January. The sale of Dembele and the injuries to Kane, Verts and others have subsequently took their toll and Spurs started to lose games they usually won in previous seasons
If you judge the point diff based on last year, and think the diff is 1 point, then you've practically under-estimated Spurs mini-crisis end of last season.
Recall at one stage, we had ran out of first team players and were looking to promote youngsters to cope with the busy schedule

Would much rather have Ndombele and it sounds like lo celso is pretty much done.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doesn`t matter if is a loan or not, Tiellemans was a loan at Leicester, and now they have signed him. Cellabos is a really good loan for Arsenal, 22 years of age, bags of potential, and if he enjoys it, may sign next season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arsenal signed Dennis Suarez on loan from Barca last season - huge talent and potential. Go and ask the Arsenal boys how that one turned out

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Contrary to what you and some others believe that blue print was set by Manchester City which is spend big and buy players
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a team that despite all their problems finished just one points behind Spurs, and had they not imploded would have almost certainly finished above Spurs in a CL spot.

The Ceballos deal really is a small club deal
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's actually quite a sensible deal for all involved.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree mate, ridiculous of Spurs supporters to ridicule that loan deal, when you are getting a very good player.

=============

Jeez, calm down OP. Cabellos is a loan isn't he?
Would much rather have Ndombele and it sounds like lo celso is pretty much done.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doesn`t matter if is a loan or not, Tiellemans was a loan at Leicester, and now they have signed him. Cellabos is a really good loan for Arsenal, 22 years of age, bags of potential, and if he enjoys it, may sign next season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Arsenal signed Dennis Suarez on loan from Barca last season - huge talent and potential. Go and ask the Arsenal boys how that one turned out

The deal is such that within the money constraints, yes possibly but you need to see the bigger picture
Arsenal are so fallible at the back and need to move on Mustafi, the other two as well and need to evaluate whether to keep Koscielny too.
Defense strengthening is a must for Arsenal
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely.
Our interest in Zaha is understandable, but nearly every Gooner I know is hoping more for another CB.
