CL is the best for me but I'd take the league over the CL this season, considering it's been so long since we won it.

Would you have also taken it last season instead of the CL for the same reasons?

Of course I’d rather us win the PL but that’s only once. That’s only because we haven’t won it in such a long time.

If and when we do it, I’ll prefer the CL every season. Being European Champions is the pinnacle of club football. You are absolutely delusional if you think otherwise.

Can’t believe you had to make this article to try and belittle the CL just because we won it last season, pathetic OP.

Premiership by a mile. If you win it you have earned it over a long tough season. CL is a huge honour too, but like all knockout competitions there is an element of luck in it.

I didn't think it had belittled the CL Neo, but fair enough if you do.

Facts.

CL is the Pinnacle.

As a pool fan ID prefer to win Prem though.

But the Champions League IS the pinnacle of European football.

There’s a level in of drama in the two legged KO rounds of the cL you don’t really get in the league, of course the league can be dramatic too just in a different way.

League all day, anything else is a bonus. Deep down the mousers know this but wont admit it having gone nearly 30 years without a league and generally winning cup competitions through luck. It hurts them. Its great.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s the trouble with these kind of articles, they’re just a desperate attempt by United fans to remain relevant. They realise they’re literally a mid table side, hanging onto the coattails of the likes of Burnley and Palace.

To think they used to mock us for banging on about history, yet here they are doing exactly the same.

You could say CL is harder to win. See City

Why don’t the immature lot go and make their own article and stop ruining this one. Off you go.

I agree with the drama aspect, and excitement of the CL; I'd pay more money to watch us vs Juve than us vs Burnley.
It's just that I think the league sorts out the best team.
Now if there was a European league rather than cup, things would be different.

posted on 6/10/19

Would anyone admit that Liverpool have an affinity with the European cup that other English sides simply don’t?

And if this is the case can there be a level of understanding as to why reds love the European cup so much?

posted on 6/10/19

I will say all I want is the league as I was a kid when we last won it and barley remember it.

Winning the title you have to be the best over a course of fixtures where you play each team in your league twice.

The luck of the draw can help you win the CL and you may never face some of the good teams.

Yea I think you do. A European night at Anfield has a certain magic to it that the others don’t have.

Yes luck mentioned again and again on here.

I will bet money that if Liverpool win the league the same people will say it's down to luck be that with injuries, decisions or opposition players not playing as well as people would like.

Then you have the CL, so much luck involved with the competition that really fvcking good teams win it year after year. People will say Inter, I'll raise you Leicester.

It's almost as if people will say anything.

It's surely true the fans love it more, and the club has won more. So perhaps it is more special to you than us, I don't know really.
Fans are also individuals so perhaps some United fans feel the same as you.

Do you actually think this is a serious article, and not an attempt by a United fan to cling onto past glories and highlight the one trophy we have failed to win in order to soften the fall of your mighty perch? Ok.

United have won the league by pretty much beating teams outside the top 5/6, and having a poor record against the upper teams. So you could argue that the best team doesn’t always win the league, just the best flat track bullies.

league is bread and butter however the biggest game in world club football is the CL final.

Biggest competition with the best players in the world.

To be fair I think the OP is alright and genuinely asking the questions. Unfortunately some of his Manc friends and a number of spurs fans are here for something different. Amazes me how rare it is to find a rival fan who is willing to discuss anything Liverpool in any serious way.

And it may change depending on where you are as a club too I guess. Let's face it winning either is kind of cool. I want to be entertained and proud of my sides attitude having a go before trophies though. Winning stuff is the bonus for me and more like recognition doing that.

.....

You really couldn't unless you were a simpleton.

In that case, Termy, I can see how you would.

52 most definitely isnt a wum and just enjoys writing about football. Always complimentary of Liverpool to all things considered. I thiyght it was a good article, albeit it a little arbitrary, but he's just sharing his thoughts isnt he?
