I could accept it if people were voting for selfish reasons. But there’s no selfish reason for millions of people to vote for this Tory government. They’re of no benefit to their lives at all. It’s blatant stupidity, manipulation and bigotry.

Was just reading that the government was able to use Copernicus to assist with the recent floods.

https://twitter.com/EU_Commission/status/1195672881310494720?s=09

Copernicus is an EU satellite system which provides mapping for management of natural disasters.

Which appears to be another area at risk from Brexit.

Tories.

Know the cost of everything, and the value of nothing.

I`d rather drink turps and slash on a fire than vote Labour

Your choice.

I see no alternative but to vote Labour, simple as that.

I am late to this thread, and so far have only read the first page.
Winston, you don't seem to like anything nationalised. Does this include the:
NHS
Post Office
BBC
Police
Basic pension.
Or would you prefer to see them all private as in the USA;
When phones were put in by the Post Office a phone in Argyle cost the same as a phone in Knightsbridge. As far as I am concerned that's a good thing.

Soon after I married and got my first house the rate for water, payable to the local council, was 22% of the council tax;

It was then nationalised and became Pennine water, together with a big new office and company cars.
The first year the rate was the same, by the fourth year we paid in total 30% more.
The water tasted just the same though!

Do because I don’t agree with a nationalised railway or utilities, you assume I don’t agree with nationalised NHS or police?

Get in the sea.

Your comment seemed to me to be against nationalisation generally. So which are you for and against.
Do you think that the sale of water should be in private hands?

I don’t think you can take such a simplistic approach to a complex subject. I think there’s a better case for it in some industries vs others.

What’s complex about it?

Energy, Water, the Post Office, and transport are far better off in public hands.

It was not a simplistic approach, I merely asked a question on industry. I by no means think every thing should be nationalized, a mixed economy is the way to go imo.
But if you read your comment on page 1,you certainly didn't give that impression.

Privatised Police?

That’s coming next. F*ck your civil and human rights innit.

It’s only complex if you want it to be.

Just like our ridiculous taxation system.

posted on 16/11/19

Okay.

Hopefully you’ll run for prime minister so you can sort it all out.

posted on 16/11/19

Not really Winston. It would help clear it up if you could give a couple of examples of industries it would be better nationalised.
