Season’s greetings to you too Rev. Your summary is pretty spot on, automatic promotion is there for the taking for the top two, however, Leeds are will be especially vulnerable after last years debacle, WBA, will probably end up comfortable champions. The play offs will be any four from probably about ten currently, with the eventual winners anybody’s guess. As you say, if we back up the Dull victory with a couple of home wins, both games are definitely winnable, we will again be in a strong, but probably false position. The championship has been so unpredictable so far, and I don’t expect that too change. Our message must be, keep plugging away, gain some consistency and see where we end up. In some ways performances are possibly more important than results, as a good performance, even after a defeat breeds confidence. 3 points are always important but can mask short comings. So long as we stay at least around the play off zone until the end of the season, even if we fall short, we will have progressed from our recent malaise.

Nothing less than 3 points will suffice from this match, would be nice to get a comfortable 3 or 4 nil win but I will take a scrappy 1 goal victory
Also we won't make the playoffs unless we sign 2 good players next month, primarily a goalscoring midfielder and of course a striker
If anyone reads the LTLF forum then check out the Hull City fan comments. Hilarious. As they did unto us, we did unto them. Brilliant.
Anyway, that’s the past now...and there is no point living in the past...dark-moon...I’m twinkling at you.
Wigan are on a bit of a run right now. Four draws from four have kept them in contention for staying up, with it as tight at the bottom as it is at the top. Even Derby are only two games away from a relegation spot.
Wigan’s Away form stands at W0D2L2 whilst our Home form is W1D1L2.
It’s got a draw written all over it, surely. But then again, we just beat Hull.
Last time we played Wigan we had Bostock, Mir and Robinson all starting, with all three rightly subbed. Ribeiro was apparently on RW?! No wonder we lost 1-0.
Chema looked good at LB. Hopefully Robinson (W5 D7 L5) doesn’t feature, so as to improve the W5 L1 without him continues. In fact he only played seven minutes in one of his wins so it should read:
Robinson: W4 D7 L5
Without: W6 L1
The game where he played the last seven minutes? The right winger made it 2-1 in the 87th minute. Hmmmm?? We’d be on 59 points without him.
So, if your a betting man? We’ll win if Bostock, Mir and Robinson don”t play. It’s obviously not all Robinson, Carvalho on the wing or starting with Silva also doesn’t help.
A dogged 2-1 Win then. Possibly more if we can improve on the Hull performance.
We can win at home!! Even if the last win was against Derby...on the 9th November....
Two winnable games coming up, today’s match looks the easier of the two. It is vital we back up a good away win with three points today.
Sow’s physical presence made a big difference at the kcom, but I expect he won’t be risked today. I was impressed with the way Chema dealt with Bowen on Sunday, and the back five seemed to have recovered its early season solidity.
Should be a good atmosphere from a sellout crowd to see a good win with Grabban adding to his tally.
Forest 2. Wigan 0 = back in the playoffs

How often do we follow up a good away win with a solid home one? Or often so as usual I’m not confident. These are without doubt the games we have to win if we want to make play offs. Fingers crossed Sow can recover as he seems to make the midfield tick and means Watson doesn’t have to do it all defensively.
Wigan bottom of the league
Won 4 from 24
One of those wins was against us
Surely, we won’t, will we
Yates in for Sow (dead leg)
Carvalho in for Silva
Ameobi in for Lolley.
Hmm - not really sure about Carvalho to be honest, but there again it is Wigan.
Let’s hope Carvalho can really turn it on today and start showing his potential
Agreed Rev, but for me, Silva has been a revelation this season. His work ethic is excellent, ball skills really good and he can pick out a pass really well.
I guess the problem is playing Silva and Carvalho in the same team.
Yep Bosque, irrespective of the price tag, going on performances and impact so far this season, I’d have Silva in above Carvalho every day

----------------------------------------------------------------------
At the moment, they are!
‘orrible is exactly the right description. 35 mins at home to a team bottom of the league and we haven’t created a single chance.
What is it with our home form????
We have a good setup away because we can play in the counter very well
But when the incentive is on us to attack, like it should be with any team playing at home - we seem totally clueless
How Carvalho been this half?
Carvalho = non existent, along with about 7 others
Grabban heads wide of an open net from 4 yards, sums us up
