The whole point is it has reclaimed the word. A bit like gay people calling themselves quweer. If someone is offended they are not really understanding it. Like the WJC sat in NY who have probably never been to a football match in their life.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It hasn't reclaimed the word. Spurs fans aren't Jews. You can't reclaim the word if you aren't Jewish.

I wouldn't arrest anybody. I would stop telling Spurs fans that it's OK to use a racial slur that Jewish people find offensive and start educating. It is not necessarily their fault as at the time their education was that it was fine to use it as others called them it anyhow. However this has stopped.

Question:
Why do you, a Liverpool fan have such an issue with this?
I find the whole debate quite difficult. I think some people intentionally want to avoid considerations like ‘context’ and ‘intent’. Like Chelsea complaining that they’re not allowed to use the word but Spurs fans are. Anyone who can’t see the different must have a severely deficient IQ.
However, I also honestly don’t get why Spurs fans are so precious about it. I used to sing all the songs but then I decided if even one person felt uncomfortable by that word being used, I didn’t want to use it, so stopped.
I don’t feel it should be banned. I just don’t see why so many are so desperate to use it.

Fair comment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We're not "Desperate" to use it at all.
We've been signing in for decades. It's only since David Baddiel got involved in recent years has it become an issue.
TOOR speaking on behalf of the Jewish community and claiming he's more educated on the matter than Jewish Spurs fans who use the word.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes I'm saying using racial slurs is an arrestable offence, as clarified by Scotland Yard, specifically in regards to this subject.
Yes I am saying if 50,000 people are chanting a racial slur, they won't be arrested, a blind eye will be turned and over time this will become normalised, as it has at Spurs games.
What are you saying? Are you saying it is not an arrestable offence and if it was they would send the army in the arrest 50,000 people?
This is getting a bit silly now...

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Many are.
So what's your view on a Jewish person using the word?
Arrest them as well?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wouldn't arrest anybody. I would stop telling Spurs fans that it's OK to use a racial slur that Jewish people find offensive and start educating. It is not necessarily their fault as at the time their education was that it was fine to use it as others called them it anyhow. However this has stopped.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Question:
Why do you, a Liverpool fan have such an issue with this?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't have an issue with it. As I said before, it doesn't bother me that Spurs fans sing it and I don't deem it racist or anything as I understand the history. As I have repeatedly stated, it's the Jewish community that have an issue with it.

Well you're making a lot of noise over this issue.
Are you Jewish, do you have Jewish family members or have any close ties with the Jewish community?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair comment.

Interesting point...
Wonder if my Jewish Spurs supporting uncle would be deemed racist, or would be arrested for using the word...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In TOOR's world he would, it seems.
Common sense bypass?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No. You've made that up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're saying that this is an arrestable offence and that the only reason Spurs fans aren't arrested is because of numbers.
Isn't that correct?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes I'm saying using racial slurs is an arrestable offence, as clarified by Scotland Yard, specifically in regards to this subject.
Yes I am saying if 50,000 people are chanting a racial slur, they won't be arrested, a blind eye will be turned and over time this will become normalised, as it has at Spurs games.
What are you saying? Are you saying it is not an arrestable offence and if it was they would send the army in the arrest 50,000 people?
