I do wish I'd bought a heap of hand sanitizer a few months ago to flog to pharmacies for 1000% what I paid

It's the flu...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Indeed it is. But if enough people get the flu at the same time it causes the system to collapse
What are you guys doing to prepare for a potentially rough next few months?
-----------------
Not panicking, treating life as normal, being more thorough in washing my hands.
This crazy new trend of having to wash your hands after you've been for a dump is a bit annoying.

Technically its not. Its a completely different virus.
The only thing we have stockpiled in our house is candles, not for any reason to do with the virus, just that she can't leave the house without buying more candles ffs.

Handy for all the potential seances coming up
I think everybody needs a sense of perspective here. The rate of infection in the UK is incredibly low at 90 cases.
It doesn't seem to be picking up any pace at all, and we are brilliantly set up to deal with this.
The issue is the media creating a swarm of panic to sell papers, frankly I think it's abhorrent how the media have used this situation to scaremonger the population.
Planning on getting it as soon as possible so I can be one of the first immune and make the most of cheap flights/hotels while everyone else is sick or scared in their homes.
I know it's not the flu, but like it's the flu...

There should be virus parties like people have with chicken pox.
The Coronavirus is quite convenient for people such as the Tories and Trump though. Anything bad Brexit and US Election related can be buried.
I'm not saying the virus isn't serious for some but it's being made out to be worse than it is IMO.

It's not though, aside of it being a viral infection, it's nothing like the flu.
The mortality rate is only concering for those over 60, the re is next to no impact on children.
As long as the elderly, or thouse with existing respitory conditions are looked after, and hospitals and GP offices are not crammed with people who sneezed then it should be manageable.

There isn't that many cases because we are in the early phases of the spread. Its predicted it will reach its peak in May/June.

Bang on, the media are fixated on this like they were the death of the Iranian general and the prospect of WW3.
Feels to me that it's a diversion tactic from something else.
