I would feel exactly the same in their position: cheated of glory. More in Liverpool’s case of course. For Leeds and West Brom the issue is still in doubt. But I just think that for the overwhelming majority of clubs and their fans, they will want to cancel the season, and in the end it will be a majority decision that determines the outcome.
If we are talking about, say, August or September before football starts again then it becomes harder to justify completing the season and more tempting or even more sensible to want to start afresh
----
The following season would already be affected then. It would take 3 or 4 weeks to play the remaining fixtures, no reason why they can't be done.
Preseason will be fun as well won't it
Vidal, you said that in a few weeks we could have thousands of deaths. Do you mean more deaths than normal? Because many old people die each year from flu and pneumonia.
Do you think this corona flu is making us panic unnecessarily? It might be like other worries, I keep thinking of the millennium bug and other things like CJD which were going to kill millions.
“It’s only football who cares” said my wife this morning.
She’s right of course. Most people in this country don’t care about football despite the hypefest Sky have made it into.
1939 season was suspended after 3 games and subsequently cancelled.
This virus could kill 2 million, just in this country, if the current death rate is played out and should the whole population get it. It has been forecast that everyone will get Covid-19. In these circumstances whether or not we get a fair end to the season is meaningless.
Top 2 go up automatically bottom 2 go down.
3rd bottom plays 3rd, 4th and 5th from the league lower in a play off game. Behind doors friendlies begin mid August. Play offs last two weekends of August. Next season starts when it used to first week of September. Promoted and relegated teams have an extended transfer window to trade with other clubs.
??????
*Play offs not one game with 4 teams just to clarify.
FA Cup Final create a league of those still in it based on their FA Cup results.
4 points for winning in normal time.
3 points for winning in replay.
2 points for winning in ET
1 point for winning on penalties.
Plus goal difference. then goals scored.
Best two teams have a final.

Yes, thousands more than usual. Many not from Coronavirus but from other conditions that need ITU support. Patients with sepsis, heart attacks or those recovering from major surgery. Even before this the NHS was well past breaking point with shortage of intensive care beds nationally. For a long time it has been necessary to choose which patient is more deserving of an ITU bed than another. The projections are that if infection is widespread and the percentages of those needing intensive care are correct then there will be carnage. Patients who might, say, have had a fifty-fifty chance of recovery from major illness won’t get that chance. Probably age cut-offs will be used but it will go beyond that because of the sheer numbers and the lack of capacity. We have half of the number of ITU per head of population compared to Italy for example, and to other countries. This is why the government is desperately trying to spread it all over as long a period as possible.
Didn't China build two hospitals in 10 days, saving Beijing n Shanghai from being badly hit and resulting in coronavirus numbers now going down in China plus stopping it getting to Beijing n Shanghai stopped it spreading all over South Asia????
Does BJ not wanna move that fast???
We are self obsessed. Concerned about our team when people, even our family members could die. There is a cholera epidemic in Yemen which has killed over ten times more than Covid 19, from a population of just 17 million but not many seem to care.
Pay attention to Vidal. On medical matters probably the second most qualified on here. On footy, the less said the better.
Stay safe folks đ
If you are over 70 you are going to be under 7 months house arrest.
Sorry 4 months house arrest, it's for your own good.
No one here as ever lived beyond 70 so that may skew the statistics. Old people eh!
I am 74 with cronic diabetes so if there is an age cut I have no chance . little chance anyway. nor has my son who has cystic fibrosis which affects his lungs.i heard yesterday his dedicated hospital cf clinic in Nottingham is to be used as a ward for patients with this c2019 virus, just read on MSN news the W.H.O have critisised boris Johnson and his advisors who apparently are going for the herd approach where crowds help to build up each others immunity ?
I had a beer with my anaesthetist colleagues last night. They are the ones running the intensive care units up and down the country. They will be deciding which of us they will ventilate and try to save, and which of us they will attach to the syringe-driver that will ease our passage out of this life. They are possibly the most intelligent and certainly the least flappable of all of the medical specialties. They are shi**ing themselves.
I think Spart’s advice is good. If you are getting on in years, or if you have a bad chest or other long-term significant illness, try your best to limit your contact with people as much as you can.
This is not a medical board guys!
Many tragic situations throughout the world. On the Bill Maher show yesterday one of his guests mentioned he vulgarity if hot dog at hot dog contests while people are hungry or starving through it the world.
We are football fans who love the sport. Doesn’t mean we don’t care about people getting sick or dying from this virus. But because of circumstances this illness is affecting our passion. No need to feel guilty about discussing this situation.
Give me/us a break.

The starving people argument is so contrived. It's just the hand you were dealt in life regarding where you were born or whether you should even have been born at all of your parents were responsible enough to realise they didn't have the resources to bring up a child. If you're the 7th child of a family living in a mud hut in Africa with notging but the rags on their back, of course you're going to starve, but that doesn't make me feel guilty about stuffing my face at an all you can eat buffet.

Bang on.
Vidal
They can’t be that intelligent , if they are giving this advice out, yet going on p@ss, when there a good chance they might have been in contact with people who have had it.
But ironic really
I think the most likely thing to happen will be for them to run a computer simulation of the remaining matches, including any playoffs, and take those as the results.
Will some clubs try to sue? yes, but the same will happen if you delay for too long anyway. You can't just play this season in the summer as contracts will have expired, loan players will have returned etc. and if a team invested heavily in this season with a view to promotion or avoiding relegation that would be a game-changer for them too, both in terms of how the season turns out, and in their planning for next season.
