Can understand the will some Liverpool fans have to finish the season (to avoid ‘tainted or unfinished’ title jibes), but it’s not worth the risk. It’s simply very unimportant.

Liverpool should be awarded title and the season terminated as is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Forget Liverpool for a moment. What happens to the football pyramid if no football is played for umpteen months, maybe a year or two even?

You haven't realised that we have no choice but to play behind closed doors at some point, whether people like it or not. It doesnt matter which season, when football returns it has to be behind closed doors so this plan better work or it's time to go home and wait to see which clubs manage to avoid folding for the longest time.

Who do you think will outlast the rest if football cannot be played for 18 months?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That can be dealt with a little later on when restrictions are lifted somewhat. There is no need to finish this season, football is not a priority
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What about by the thousands of jobs and businesses that rely on football?

Do you think they could be a priority?

Seriously

There will be no ballboys and no one but players and management in the changing room. Players will prepare their own kit.

As for doors, they could try installing those slide doors which open automatically as you get close
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear me.

Of course there won't be Ballboys in the Players' changing area.

But they will be returning the ball to the players, from empty stands?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you’ve ever been to a game you’ll know that they use massive nets behind the goals as the players warm up to stop the ball going in the crowd.. they’ll use those too I guess.

Also, how will we deal with it later when 80% of clubs have folded?

Either we play BCD or a new football pyramid is coming. https://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/420470

The plan as it is now is for there to be no ball boys at all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Whose plan?

I am sure that will work at the top end of the game, but the cost of that will dwarf any income from streaming.

I'm sorry, but at no point either this season or next do I see clubs at League One or below playing games behind closed doors, not unless someone somewhere is putting their hands in their pockets to pay for their running costs, which cumulatively will run into tens of millions. Those clubs would probably much rather get to the end of this season, get rid of players out of contract and then sit it out until they know how next season will look and when it's likely to start (the Accrington chairman Andy Holt has been vocal about this). There is no financial gain for many of them to finish this season so why would they? They aren't getting £100M each for doing so like the Premier League. No reason the Prem can't finish if it really wants or needs to but you can't expect clubs lower down to spend hand over fist for no real gain.

Well obviously they've got a plan and think this is doable otherwise they wouldn't be planning to do it.

They would if they thought "exploring every way to continuing the season" would mitigate losses from TV Contract rebates/lawsuits

Multiple countries are planning to resume. Clearly they've thought it out in detail as they have even specified dates they are looking to resume. If we start getting 100,000 tests per day as intended then that's a big step forward. Looking forward to watching some footy again personally, will be a bit of a boost.

Yeah you know those nets that are easily transported and cost not a lot.

I suggest using a few balls so we don't need to wait for it to be returned from the stands. ⚽️

With all due respect lads, what experience do you have of buying/operating football Clubs?
What experience of budgeting football Clubs?
Of agreeing Sponsorship contracts?
Of agreeing media contracts?
Of dealing with FA?

Nowhere near as much as the Premier League, who just happen to be planning to resume football in the coming weeks.
