Frank Lampard. He just had A LOT of shots at goal every game and some went in

This is basically every single good goalscorer in football history

Roberto Baggio - ridiculous hairstyle, took a worse penalty than Beckham in the WC final
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Didn't he force himself back into the team and pretty much carry Italy to the final? I kinda remember him being an unstoppable machine in the semis but I may be wrong.
Another candidate is Raul Gonzalez - get a legend status in Real Madrid despite never got more than 20 goals in the league in his career

Oooh swap Eriksen for Ledley King actually.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thierry Henry rated Ledley King as the best defender he played against in the EPL.
Like VDV, whoever he played alongside appeared as a much much better defender.
Sadly he never got to prove himself on the bigger stage due to injury & Spurs inadequacies but as someone who watched him regularly, i have to wholeheartedly disagree with you.
Think we’ve reached a point where people are just picking names out a hat and saying ‘yeah but he wasn’t that good at this or that’.
Judging by this article some players are underrated
Figo
Zidane
Nedved
Iniesta

I’m glad a few have mentioned Zidane.
Not sure if anyone has said Iniesta yet but he should be mentioned more.
Once I do my article exposing them, maybe people will realise.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The reason I mentioned Zidane and not Iniesta is the esteem Zidane is held in.
Iniesta was a fine player and a wonderful exponent of the football Pep liked to play at Barca but in my opinion his reputation is as a member of one of the best midfields we've seen. He's mentioned alongside Xavi (and to a less extent Busquets) as Barca's great midfield but he was never the star. Never the Messi or the Ronaldinho, or even the Neymar or Suarez.
Plenty of people think Zidane is up there with the greats of the game, not sure many believe that with Iniesta.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah that’s true.
I think Zidane is widely regarded as Top 5-10 all-time.
Iniesta much lower.
That’s why Zizou is my MOAT and Iniesta is my 2nd most overrated.

Have to disagree with King being overrated too, I have a couple of friends who are Spurs fans and spent quite a bit of time in the pub with them watching Tottenham when King played, he was brilliant when fit. He didn't look out of place against France in Euro 2004 either, playing against the likes of Henry, ZZ, Pires and Trezeguet, was more than capable of playing at a higher level.

One thing you can't criticise Raul about is goalscoring. He scored over 300 goals for Madrid and over 60 of them in the CL.
I think what people mean about King being overrated is he is rated as what people thought he may have been, had he not got the injuries, rather than what he was. He was still behind a few defenders for England, when he actually played.

He was consistent, I give you that. My statement is still correct isn't it? He never score 20+ goals in the league. Even Rooney managed better than that and he sometimes got branded overrated by fans, so.

How do people overate Raul? He’s widely regarded as a good goal scorer who is a Madrid legend due to his longevity and loyalty. Where have people been rating him any more than that?

Over a 1 in 2 record. He also got over 100 assists. He was an outstanding player.
People are comparing the goalscoring of likes of Figo and Nedved to wingers nowadays who are basically forwards, when they actually played on the wing and their main job was to create.
Also the likes of Raul who would play with a partner and was the deepest of the strikers, who was tasked with getting on the ball and creating also. He had a 1 in 2 record and also was an excellent creator.
