Why is it hilarious?
It explains his role EXACTLY
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So his role is to be on the left side of the pitch and the right wing
You are probably the only person on the planet who would use left sided to mean left footed and you are definitely the only person on the planet who would describe someone as a left sided right winger
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair to RDD, he probably isn't the only person: if you google "left-sided footballer", it will bring up loads of stuff about left-footed players and will even embolden "left-footed" as though it were synonymous with "left-sided".
The problems start when you use "left-sided" as part of the description of a role or position. As I said yesterday, "left-sided right-winger" or "a left-sided player to add a goal threat from the right" just sound confusing and plain wrong. "Side" to almost every fan refers to an area of the pitch.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How would you describe what we need ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’m sorry, but if I was trying to communicate what you’d said, I’d have probably said something like: “a left-footed right winger/forward.” I know it’s only a small difference but it’s also a massive one and, if you’d said that, everyone would have understood.
So because people couldn’t work out by sided I meant footed, I’m some sort of idiot?
Left sided definition includes - Favouring, or having greater skill or acuity on the left side of the body; especially having greater strength or superior motor skills in the limbs of the left side.
Google left sided players and the return is lots and lots about Left footed players, not left wingers.
It’s wrong to label players capable of playing in more than 1 position as simply Left, Right or Central players.
No, this is why you’re an idiot:

When has the word sided EVER been used in football to describe a players position?

Left winger, Left midfielder, Left back, yes. When do you hear commentators or pundits refer to the left sided position?
And DDG has rolled the ball out to the LB who finds the left sider. And thats a great ball into Pogba from the left sider. He really is making that Left sider position his own.
