Tbf, dismantling capitalism probably is the best way to make a lot of people’s lives better. It’s hardly been great for black people over the course of history.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It hasn't been great for most people. 😂😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s what I said. But black people have been hit hardest by a wealth disparity in the US.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Come again?? You really need to do some research into Africa.
Not all black people are poor in the US. 7% of the millionaires are black. Immigrant black people are doing well, I believe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who said all black people were poor?
And there’s an obvious reason why black immigrant people tend to do better than African Americans
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Is this where you say that black immigrants come from wealthy & educated backgrounds which is why they do better?
That's also not entirely true as the carribean immigrants also outperform black african americans and also black women outperform white women in similar geogrpahical and economic circumstances.
How do you explain that?
One thing to be said for capitalism is that its ability to create wealth has raised the poverty line to a higher standard. Not that I don’t agree that the wealth disparity is scandalous.

wow
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s true. The wealth disparity in the world we live in is scandalous. Can you really argue otherwise?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
OK so what would you choose? Socialism? Marxism? Communism?
They always fail and when they fail, they fail HARD and cost hundreds of millions of people their lives.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that is a conversation for far smarter people than us to try and solve
What I do know is that for the richest 1% of the worlds population to own 44% of the worlds wealth while billions live below the poverty line is scandalous and something that if we reeeeally want to make the world a better place we need to have some serious conversations about the evils of capitalism
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Those conversations have been had for decades mate, the alternatives fail really badly and people end up much worse off.
The 1% you talk about are necessary for growth and improved services. They put up all the money, take all the risk, why shouuldn't they get all the billions in profit? If their companies go under who pays for it? They do. Not to mention that people like employ millions and millions of people.
I understand the point when comparing to third world-poverty but that is nothing to do with the 1%. Compared to third-world pverty stricken people, we're extremely rich. Is that fair that they were born into a poor country? No ofc not but the alternatives, redistribution of wealth etc simply doesn't work.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well done for finding the exceptions to the rule.
So because a few black people rose to the top that makes it okay for the millions of others to be living below the poverty line.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you mean globally or UK/US?
People that live below the poverty line in the UK/US are there because of individual choices and/or socioeconomic factors; not racism.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We’ve had thousands of back and forths on this over the past few weeks - I think you’re horrifically wrong on this but if my essays haven’t convinced you and yours haven’t convinced me we’ll have to agree to disagree
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sure, we might not change each other's opinions. The only difference is though mate, I have posted facts and statistics and you have written essays with very little substance.
I actually can't wait for the day when someone writes to me with a load of undeniable facts that completely contradict what I've learnt.

even during some of the worst times for black people in America they were famous musicians and singers, usually abused by jewish record producers wheres today it seems somewhat fairer.
Regarding their elevation to the top of sports in the US sadly this has a lot of ties to slavery. The biggest and strongest survived and bred thus creating bigger and stronger generations which obviously leads to elite specimens propagating at the top of professional sport which requires that level of athleticism.
Same is also true of other slave colonies like Jamaica. Same process has created elite athletic genes too.
the bigger question would be how many of the Fortune 500 have black CEOs?

black that immigrate into places like UK and US are typically middle class well educated in their home countries. They have a very strong sense of who they are as they have not been repressed by a sysytem that opresses them.
So tell a black immigrant all black people are the problem and they can see through your BS. Tell a black brit / american the same and that bs might actually work. Plus most black immigrants have the foundation of a solid education which black americans / brits "generally don't have"

Even if I were to accept that immigrants have the foundations of solid education whereas AA do not, which I don’t and I’ll explain why I don’t know. If someone immigrated to the US in the 70s and they brought their children along with them, those children have the exact same education as the AA, don’t they? Segregation ended in the 60s and affirmative action was put in place also so it doesn’t stack up with children/young people now in 2020 having such a disparity.
Now onto the point about men & women which you conveniently ignored. If there is systemic racism in place, why do young black women outperform young White women when in comparable situations?

What a mess BLM is.
and what a mess the virtue signallers here are, running around calling everyone racists or karens.
Grow up.
It's a banner. Save the fake outrage for Facebook where you can show off to everyone how great you are.
Next month most of you will be back to work or on holiday and won't ever care about this so spare us the lectures.
Oprah Winfrey is the ceo of her own company which she built from her hosting
Jordan is owner of the bobcats with all the money he made from Nike
I assume you mean Jay Z as the richest musician who hired a CEO for RocNation which is owned by Live Nation and has their own actual CEO?
Grow up.
It's a banner. Save the fake outrage for Facebook where you can show off to everyone how great you are.
———
It’s a wee bit more than “a banner.”
It’s also feckin hideous that someone would think being disgusted by racism, can be described as “fake outraged.”

So Opra started at the very bottom of the tv news industry and is now a billionair. Not bad for an "entertainer"
Dr Dre made his money from creating his own record lable (a business after all), and then made his fortunes in the headphones industry.
both are CEOs
again, not bad for "entertainers"

Maybe their ability to spell correctly helped.
i keep finding myself commenting even when I don't want to.
A part of me recognises that there are those who see racism for what it is, others don't. No amount of posts can change either parties mind.
There are people open and willing to listen but I doubt the will be found on an internet forum. So I once again leave this conversation. And respect to those with the energy to keep going

I know what you mean. Personally I’m not actually interested in changing people’s minds, I actually want someone to change my mind but to do that requires a sound argument backed up by data, empirical evidence. Vague arguments don’t do anything for me.
At least it’s generally a polite debate and not too extreme.

Tbf, dismantling capitalism probably is the best way to make a lot of people’s lives better. It’s hardly been great for black people over the course of history.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

'Dismantle capitalism structures that disproportionately harm black people in Britain and around the world.'
At least put the quote in context FFS. The number of people that completely miss the point of anything to do with BLM is ridiculous. You have to think a lot of it is deliberate so they can find a reason to be against it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
and how on earth do you go about getting rid of the capitalism that just hurts black people??
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They don't want to get rid of capitalism. They want to reconstruct the structures within capitalism so they are less biased against certain races.
You just want to read that they are communist though, so you have an excuse to be against them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
what on earth is going on in that "autonomous Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone" in Seattle then ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Anarchists hijacking a BLM protest. It's pretty obvious what happened there, unless you are trying to build political capital against anti-racism.

these are all in either sports or entertainment. There used to be a phrase in the ghetto, either learn to ball, learn to sing, or learn to sling rock, thats the only way out the hood.....
even during some of the worst times for black people in America they were famous musicians and singers, usually abused by jewish record producers wheres today it seems somewhat fairer.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
very simple
black that immigrate into places like UK and US are typically middle class well educated in their home countries.

It’s also feckin hideous that someone would think being disgusted by racism, can be described as “fake outraged.”

So Opra started at the very bottom of the tv news industry and is now a billionair. Not bad for an "entertainer"
Dr Dre made his money from creating his own record lable (a business after all), and then made his fortunes in the headphones industry.
both are CEOs
again, not bad for "entertainers"

I know what you mean. Personally I’m not actually interested in changing people’s minds, I actually want someone to change my mind but to do that requires a sound argument backed up by data, empirical evidence. Vague arguments don’t do anything for me.
At least it’s generally a polite debate and not too extreme.
