It was actually on this site of all places I saw an alternative to Black Lives Matter that works better and retains the simplicity, power and point behind the statement - just Black Lives Matter Too.

To reply to someone else who didn’t like it as much, I don’t think it comes across as whiney or weak and I think it encapsulates the anti-racism cause better than just BLM

I actually agree the Black Lives Matter movement wording isn’t best. I didn’t get it at first too. But I think the movement since George Floyd amongst so many other positive things, has helped provide clarity about what the principles of the movement are and why it came about.

The movement was there before that though. It doesn’t matter why that individual did anyway though, he still had colleagues that didn’t stop it and didn’t allow him his basic rights.

for years people have been saying BLM to no avail. Then we watch a white police man kneel on theneck of a black man for almost 10 mins with the support of his colleagues.
I cannot imagine a more poignant imagery to highlight the BLM message.

Just because people or companies say or do not say something doesn't really mean anything. A lot of the time it's to do with reputation and/or money. Whole point of PR depts. This Burnley plane is a straightforward one for them to deal with.

If one person is saying ‘too’ it doesn’t make any sense to reply in a argumentative/disagreeing manner to also say too as the first person is already acknowledging the second.

People who take an issue with the idea of someone expressing the fact that black lives matter probably object to more than the wording, and will pick holes in it no matter how you dress it up.

If you’re feeling offended or “left out” by black lives matter then the “too” isn’t going to do much for you. You could still respond all lives matters if you’re that way inclined.

These people don’t want black lives getting this recognition. It’s really as simple as that. “Too” changes nothing.

Mate don’t do your usual pot-stirring, it’s really not helpful. We’re having a reasonable debate about it which is I’m sure part of what the movement desires.

Ultimately, it is those people with that opinion that black lives matter is pleading to. The change won’t come from anything black lives matter, or whatever they call
the movement, say or do, it has to come from within.

Ultimately I'm not sure why an anti racism movement needs to change their messaging in order to pander to racists
