Wonder if Liverpool will end up getting Thiago. Would be a brilliant signing
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have we been linked with him?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, it’s looking quite likely

Tiddles we have also been denied many stonewall penalties this season. That would have added over 10 expected goals. The reason we get so many penalties is because we have like record number of touches in opposition box this season.

Honestly if refs and VAR didn't cheat, we could have broken the record for penalties won in a season.

Hafi, I hear IOS14 has a new humility chip.

I mean Thiago would be a great signing but I’d be very surprised if we went for him

It makes me frustrated as I know the decisions they didn't give were decisions they shouldn't even need VAR for. The fact they get it wrong with VAR suggests corruption. Its actually amazing the on-field refs didn't give the correct decisions without VAR but the fact they didn't after VAR says they are corrupt and should be banned from officiating.

It’s almost like having a goalkeeper and a defence is just as important as having goalscorers ...

posted on 25/6/20

Robb Man City over 2 games against Spurs had 48 shots and 6 shots against but scored 2 and conceded 4 goals and Expected goals was 0.42 for Spurs and 3.25 for Man City in 2-0 loss while in 2-2 draw was 3.20 for Man City vs 0.07 for Tottenham. 2 of the flukiest results in PL history.

posted on 25/6/20

Man City 6.45 vs Tottenham Hotspur 0.49 but actual scorelone is Man City 2-4 Tottenham Hotspur. 8 goal swing in 2 games vs performance levels.

I still don’t think so Robb.

I think Klopp will replace Shaqiri and Lovren. I don’t think it’ll be traore though, and i know we are very interested in Diego Carlos at Sevilla as a Lovren replacement/competition for Gomez.

Lots of chatter Grujic will come back into the squad next season as well after 2 very successful seasons in Italy, he has grown immensely over there

Hafmeister, would you really want football always to be a game won by the team with the most shots?

Everton should have had a stonewall penalty at Anfield but VAR doesn't review it. Man City should have had a stonewall penalty but VAR bottled and ignored it. Man Utd should have had a stonewall penalty against Palace for rugby foul but not given, 1st half Cahill takes our player out one on one from behind, doing a Solskjaer take one for the team and no red card. Absurd decisions. Southampton game they should have had 3 red cards and a penalty for us but rugby kicking our striker in the box after missing the ball and smashing our player Greenwood isn't a penalty.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Spurs should have beaten United, if not for a poor penalty decision.

The draw versus Spurs will cost us. Think we’ll need to hope Cities ban is upheld now.

Shame as it feels as though we’re really turning a corner.

Although if Laporte didn’t suffer that injury you’d wonder how good or bad their defending would’ve been too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It still wouldn't be great, considering he feels the need to play aging midfielders at centre back. That Fernandinho performance yesterday was a virtual replica of Luiz for Arsenal a week or so earlier

Yep a lot of fans felt it was a good point. But you can't pick and choose what are good points. That's why Liverpool have been so dominant this year. As the mentality is that anything less than 3 points is a failure.

Though I should add that that mentality was specifically from supporters. As Ole sounded disappointed with the draw after the game

posted on 26/6/20

sandy it was a stonewall penalty, the one we got. I don’t get how you say Spurs should have beaten Man Utd when we missed about 4 great chances and pretty much dominated the whole game. You must have low standards if you think that was worthy of a win. Never seen Spurs play so bad at home against us since that 0-0 draw in 14/15 season.

At least our 3 in a row record still hasn't been broken yet.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think it’s underestimated what an incredible achievement it was. Especially the second time, there was some strong competition.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just going through this thread now.

What makes the three in a row impressive in the late 2000s is that we didn't prioritise the League either as we reached 2 CL Finals, 1 FA Cup Final, 1 FA Cup semi-final and one League Cup final in those seasons as well.

2008/09 was ridiculous as out of all the games we could have played (discounting replays) the only game we didn't play we could have was the FA Cup Final. That was an outstanding effort really.
