Funny, but Jose used to manage Nuno?
Now Nuno, could deny him the CL place though that's debatable because I don't think we were never in it.
Just an illusion. A Mathematical illusion.

Give Jose another year, sign what we need but make sure they're young promising players and not just experienced lumps that jose wants
Jose can probably get us top 4, we can bin him off after that before it goes all tiiiits up like United should have done
Can then bring in a proper long term manager who can rebuild and get the squad playing good football whilst still having champions league
This would have been the best case scenario to me but I dont even know if we can count on jose for a solid year, what he said after the game about how he didnt think we would win at half time and basically called out all the players publically for being soft was shocking and it seems like he's trying to see how quickly he can get the dressing room to turn on him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I must have seen a different post match interview then, as I thought he said the right things. Doesn't mean I forgive him or even want to keep him but is interview was fair. Said he didn't want to blame the disallowed goal and that the performance was not good when we had no inspiration 20 yards from goal and defending was poor.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"I feared that in the second half we wouldn't be strong enough to cope. Now I know more of the profile of my players. You have to be ready to cope with negative moments".
Now even if you agree that our players are mentally weak, you can't as the manager go out and say that and say that you didn't think we would win because of that. He's absolutely throwing them under the bus
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd argue that's sometimes what is needed. In this instance, I think that's the right call.

That’s so damming on his own half time team talk. If he felt that but couldn’t get the players focused and up for it that means he’s not right for this job
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I honestly felt so confident for the second half because I thought the team talk pretty much wrote itself. I thought Jose would get the players all riled up about the bullshiit decisions, about how the refs were trying to screw us over. Basically say to them that we deserve to win this game and if the refs aren't gonna help us than we're gonna win it ourselves.
I guess instead he was just pouting and didn't have faith in the players so couldn't even be bothered
Whats he gonna do with the players then
I'd argue that's sometimes what is needed. In this instance, I think that's the right call.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think there is ever a right time for a manager to come out and say to the press that he didn't expect his team to get a result because his players are soft.
No manager will take this club forward whilst Levy is in charge
Would mourinho come out and say he got the team balance and tactics completely wrong?
Nope he’d just pass the blame over
Lloris
Ivanavic Smalling Dier Davies
Sissoko Matic
Fellaini
Willian Kane Son
So disappointed with this club right now. Pathetic top down.
In damning contrast, Poch would never hung the players dry!
Never!

Maybe that is where our opinions differ. These players have failed consistently and perhaps they need to be called out on it. That said, he should also take criticism too.

How can we criticise the players' mentality but be fine with the mentality of a manager who thinks like that?

Nah, please not that guy!
I think after Poch, the most enjyoable Spurs period was under Jol.
He was ike a father figure around the club and produced some very good memorable moments for us fans!
The more I think about it the more poch coming back makes sense. He's obviously the best manager who is available.
The break would have given him some time to reflect and recover from the CL final. The players would surely welcome him back with open arms after enduring this Jose nightmare.
Levy is still a big fan of poch. Now he must realise what a total fack up he's made he'll do anything to get top 4 (on a budget ).
Come home Poch
I would have been more open to Jose, if it wasn;t for the fact that he never seem to take the blame.

One outside choice I've not seen anyone mention but one you could really see Levy going for is Bielsa. Levy only seems to work in two speeds with hiring managers - PL/England proven or in-fashion hipster choice & Bielsa kind of fits into both categories.
First and foremost if he sacked Mourinho tonight the new managers going to be a free agent & Bielsa's technically out of contract as of now. And it's as close of a return to the Pochettino way of doing things without re-hiring him as he'll be able to get.
It. Does. Not. Matter. Who. We. Hire.
