Are Chelsea buying players better than those already playing in similar positions at other clubs?
Well, certainly not in comparison to Liverpool and City.
It's arguable whether their front 3 is better than Uniteds, so as has been said, I don't see Chelsea doing anything other than battling for top 4 again, almost certainly with United.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tie up Havertz and for me they’ll have the best attacking options in the league, and arguably in Europe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No chance.
Both those players would struggle to get in either of City or Liverpools front line.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool wanted Werner to replace Firmino.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The first part of your comment is correct.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
? Who else was he replacing? Salah?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why do you think he has to replace anybody? It's called having options.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly.
Liverpool weren't in a position to spend that type of money on a bench option, at that time.
Obviously some Chelsea fans like to believe he chose Chelsea over Liverpool, but the truth is somewhat different.
People are going overboard with the Chelsea praise. Check our history, this is the first good Summer window we've had since 2014 and will probably be the last good one we have for a while. All teams have these kind of windows sometimes. Liverpool did in 2018 and City did in 2017.

I just think it's no coincidence that while Firmino is having a bad season that Liverpool are trying to sign one of the best striker in Europe. But maybe I'm wrong.

He didn't have a bad season. Didn't score as many goals as usual sure, but he didn't have a bad season. We miss him when he doesn't play.

Chillwell is an awful signing, such an average player, but the rest of their purchases have been pretty good.
If you've had a bad season and started upfront everygame, your team won't run away with the league!
12 goals and 13 assists in 52 games is crap for a striker. You need at least 20 goals playing in a title winning team as a striker. At least.

So 19 goals whilst breaking the assists record would be a bad season?
Firmino ladyboy bit overly fair to judge him on goals, he hardly scorers any, and is a poor striker if that was how you’d judge him, but he’s so important to Liverpool’s link play they wouldn’t be as good without him. So goals are not the best thing to judge him on.
He scored 12 goals (and made 13 assists if mentioning makes you feel better) in 52 games. That's terrible for a striker playing in a title winning team that clearly has quality. How is this up for debate? Lukaku scored 34 in 51 for Inter this season.
