People without religion leave a void in their lives. Some can fill it, others struggle with meaning and purpose.

Really? Even if I thought that were true, I would agree with Richard Dawkins on this one: wanting something to be true is not a good reason to believe it is true.

Why is it that if I were to talk to God, it’s called praying, yet if god talks to me it’s called paranoid schizophrenia?

That's the popular opinion these days. But it doesn't make sense, as technically everyone has a religion. A religion is simply a body of beliefs/principles. Some take an ideology as their religion, some even their football club.

I can see your point regarding religion and football,in that both are in it for exploiting their base to make as much money as possible from their followers.

But football clubs don't make moral judgements on you like religious leaders do for a start.

Religion is not a problem. People are a problem. I assume you believe religion was created by people? So how is it religion? It is people who create guns, weapons, political parties, ideologies, social classes. The problem is quite easy. It’s people and whilst there are people there will be problems

Hatred comes from conflict of beliefs and interests. This will always exist even without what you call religion.

Let's not forget that the biggest genocides in history were not committed by religious groups but ideological ones.
