The funny thing is we judge Poch a failure for coming second with 86 points and a goal difference of +60 and then getting to a CL final
If that’s failure what is what we are now?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But that was 3rd full season wasn't it? Ole has had 1 full season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Poch had Spurs in a title challenge in his second full season - I’d be amazed if Ole would do the same with us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He won't if he's sacked. And it wouldn't be amazing if he did

That was because his Spurs had a propensity in those first two seasons to collapse towards the end due to the work load the pressing style implemented. It was a fitness issue and by season three it had improved to the point where they had a very good full season.

I know many other United supporters who quite happily accept Poch would be a better choice as manager than Ole. Of course many of those people would prefer Ole succeed but wanting something to happen is very different to the reality of it happening.
Ole is breaking his own lowly records by the start we’re having this season. I’ll ask you this - if we lost on Saturday to Everton and he was sacked that night would it really be that unjust?

Hard to say. He might have learnt lessons from that era.
I don’t expect any manager whether they be Ole or Poch or Jose to have us challenging for a title immediately.
But if Poch does take over and instantly we see our side pressing and playing the type of football which a lot of our fans want to see and it does take 2/3 seasons to get fit enough to put in a challenge - while being on a clear forward trajectory - I very much doubt the fanbase will be as split as it is.

Has Ole not had similar issues? It was clear that the squad he took over from Jose was not fit. And he has had issues at the start of this season due to lack of preseason. You seem happy to consider these reasons with Poch but not Ole.
I think that if the squad had been fit enough we would have seen more of a pressing team under Ole. It is something he seemed keen to implement the last pre-season. I am just not sure that the squad has ever been fit enough to do it.

How on earth do you deduce from football 365 that sacking Ole and replacing him with Poch is a majority view?
And just how many United fans do you know, in order to make that judgement?
Sorry Robb but I think you said something you can't really back up there.
Some interesting comments.
I've not given up on Ole but I also wouldn't be too gutted about it if he did leave either (as long as it was done as respectfully as possible) which is probably not the most stable place to be as a fan really.
I'm also not convinced Poch would be the answer either. It could really be like replacing a player with just a slightly better one and I don't think that would go down too well either.
Let's hope this article bites me on the backside next year and I have egg on my face.

So to be clear I have never heard another manager, player, journalist from the papers I read, suggest Ole should be replaced by Poch.
I dare say some pundits, and some pundits haven't
So I can confidently say most football people have never expressed a desire to have Ole sacked.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There might be the odd anomaly but you’d have to spread the net far and wide to find many people at all who think Ole is a better manager than Poch.
And don’t include (some) United supporters and (some) United ex players who played with Ole.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I haven't. But you are saying that you have heard many football people say Poch is better
I don't have to defend a position where they said Ole is better, because they don't say it.
It's you who are saying that they state Poch is better. So back it up. Football people, not fans mind

I have learnt to just ignore them, but they don't bring anything to the debate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I prefer to not ignore them and just call him a prrick or cunnnt or both.
Once Robb's in agenda mode, i'm happy to be "triggered" and let him know what I think of him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My only ‘agenda’ is wanting a better manager than Ole at United. It’s not exactly the minority view. It’s very much going with the prevailing view once you leave the echo chamber of United supporter boards.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Based on what?
Twitter?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Football websites
Newspaper journalists
Broadcast journalists
Ex players (who didn’t play with Ole)
Opposition fans
Other United fans
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nice and broad then.
What other United fans do you know?

The funny thing is we judge Poch a failure for coming second with 86 points and a goal difference of +60 and then getting to a CL final
If that’s failure what is what we are now?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
But that was 3rd full season wasn't it? Ole has had 1 full season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Poch had Spurs in a title challenge in his second full season - I’d be amazed if Ole would do the same with us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It was a terrible season in terms of quality. Spurs finished with 70 points. On one hand you slate Ole for only managing 66 points in his first full season. On the other you talk up Poch for getting 70 points in his second fill season.
Poch only managed 4 wins in the last 11 and Spurs blew their best change in the title for god knows how long.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That was because his Spurs had a propensity in those first two seasons to collapse towards the end due to the work load the pressing style implemented.

Will it take three seasons to get us challenging

I just gave you a couple of examples. I wasn’t sure you if you wanted a full list of every site, newspaper, YouTube channel, individual United fan I know, individual opposition fan I know etc.
Is it really that hard to believe the outside football world doesn’t rate Ole as much as (some of) our own fans?
