that's a much more likely scenario that trump pardoning himself.
whilst he has the authority to grant pardons, it was never expected that it would ever be used to pardon oneself.
whether it is deemed possible/legal/constitutional would have to be decided by the supreme court.
and taking that option would have to be trumps last resort, not something that would be done if any alternative option existed.
the whole concept of the constitution, and the precept of article 5, is that no man is above the law.
if the president can pardon himself, that does, effectively put him above the law and in direct conflict with the constitution.
whilst trump can try it, considering the role of the supreme court is to uphold the constitution, it's very difficult to see any way they can reconcile giving the president that power and maintain the tenets of article 5.

well, to start with, what they did as presidents, the office conferred that authority to take those actions, notwithstanding any required agreement/mandates from congress or the UN. so what they did, did not contravene any US laws, or international laws.

there may have been actions taken by individuals on the ground which may have contravened the geneva convention, and be categorised as war crimes. and yes those individuals/group could be prosecuted for those, but you'd have to have substantial evidence that the president had prior knowledge, aided, supported or sanctioned those specific actions to have any chance to making any such charges against them.

Yeah good answer , I'm just saying that morally other presidents may have green lighted stuff as bad or worse than Trump , but legally yeah doubt you could prosecute them, i remember when some were saying Blair should stand trial for war crimes,
