Different context to Suarez but you know that anyway.

Great article.
No tweet.
No context.
Just hoping for a battle.
Same word, totally different context, no serious comparison.
One game ban maximum.

I agree it was a different context but do you think it's OK then?

I don’t know. I’m not Uruguayan.
I thought you guys had a stronger view on this previously

You didn’t ask if it was OK, you asked if he should receive the same punishment as Suarez. Clearly he shouldn’t as the context is completely different.
He’ll probably get some form of punishment for his naivety/lack of awareness though.

Your OP didn’t ask that, so The Process’s comment answered your question. You know the two situations are different, we know they are different, so there’s nothing to be gained from comparing them and speculating on their receiving the same punishment. Simple.
Does the op think that Cavani used the term as an insult?

Is what OK? The word?
Never really doubted that the word in isolation is not offensive in Uruguay. Enough people have clarified that for me not to think they are all lying.
If, however, Cavani had gone up to Ryan Bertrand today and said it numerous times in a clear attempt to antagonise him, I dont think i would want to see him play for us again.
As it is, it clearly wasn't meant with any malice and i think Cavani pleading ignorance is probably fair. Personally wouldnt say it warrants a ban, but if the FA give him one to maintain a precedent I suppose that's understandable.
Think that's all pretty simple, and all there is to say on it really. If you claim not to understand that there's no real point conversing any further.
I was pretty critical of cavani for this but it's nothing like the Suarez incident
"Wondering what United fans think of this?"
I think this is desperate stuff.

Gracias negrito, in response to another tweet. If you Google negrito it comes up as a non offensive word in Uruguayan.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, he doesn’t. But what you’re seeing, and will continue to see, is people deliberately simplifying previous arguments. Now, apparently, all that matters is the word itself, and the relationship between language and context must be completely disregarded in the name of point-scoring
Cavani has surely been a bit naive though. How can Suarez’s international strike partner not have been aware, as it would seem, of the details of the Evra incident?

I did wibder that myself. You'd think he was aware of what happened
We sure as hell won't make tshirts defending him if he's found guilty of anything like you prats did.
Oh go print me a facking T-Shirt!
Kindly step down from your fake high horse you’re riding.
Typical mouser really!
His team is off form, so he's looking to wum others.
He’ll get a one match ban in my opinion.
FA have adopted a zero tolerance on the matter and they can’t be seen to be lax - especially this year of all years.
As for context, Bernado Silva’s tweet about Mendy was not intended to be malicious but he still faced repercussions.

Yeh probably right. A bit annoying with him looking so sharp.
Different context to Suarez but he should know better than to use that word in England and I'll have no quibble if he gets a ban similar to Bernardo Silva.
